Trainer M Srinivas Reddy leading Prospero (C Umesh Up), winner of The S S Cardmaster Memorial Cup

M.Srinivas Reddy trained Prospero (Burden Of Proof-Cherika) who had started off its career with a bang scoring three wins on the trot bounced back to winning ways in the S.S.Cardmaster Memorial Cup that featured Friday’s races at Hyderabad. The filly shot off to the front to lead as the gates opened and brought the field into view on the straight. Down the straight Prospero continued to gallop freely in front and stayed well ahead even as Top Contender and Sea Castle left to fight for the minor places with the latter turning out better in the closing stages. Doroteo finished on in fourth.

Trainer R.H.Sequeira sent out winners in both the divisions of the Agostini Plate. Chestnut gelding Ambitious Approach (Mathematecian-Dance N Celebrate) continued its winning streak to complete a hat-trick in the division I. Jockey Aneel had Ambitious Approach running in about fourth or fifth till showing up on the straight and once the brakes were released the gelding accelerated in tremendous fashion and ran away from the rest. After a hard fought duel Big Flash managed to edge out Amazing Venus for the runner-up berth. Scooby Dooby Doo filled the frame.

The field in the lower division was reduced to six runners with three horses, Pentagon, Silver Dollar and Charming Beauty being withdrawn near the gates. Ans Ans Ans (Win Legend-Clariet) ended up as the favourite among the reduced lot. The filly was not the smartest out of the gates and settled at the back of the field while Pixie Girl aet off in front. Into the last 400 metres Pixie Girl still enjoyed a good lead but that was eaten into by Ans Ans Ans who came with a flourish from the rear and sped past. Royal Dynamite got the better of Pixie Girl for the second place.

D.Netto trained Legacy Machine (Arazan-Risada) found the rhythm following a drop in class to win the Nelston Cup in an impressive fashion. The gelding took a good jump as the gates opened and fought for the lead with Time Is Luck early on before striding clear. Inside the last furlong Legacy Machine continued to stride clear while Delta Force came from way behind to be the best of the beaten brigade. Eternal Gift was a faraway third.

Arjun Anne schooled Destined Dynamite (Charmo-Desert Dynamite) pulled off a big upset to open its account in the Nizamabad Plate. Jumping out from the outermost draw Destined Dynamite was racing in about eighth position for most part of the race. Inside the last 200 metres Air Strike and Seven Eleven got stronger couls only finish second and third respectively when Destined Dynamite burst into the scene from the extreme outside. News O’Star ran on to be fourth.

Sir Legend (China Visit-Dazzling Skill / Usha Stud) from trainer S.A.Shehzad Abbas’s yard won the opening event of the day, the division III of the Ramappa Plate. The favourite Moon Walker went on a start to finish bid and came in first on the straight. Sir Legend racing in mid-field weaved through the front runners, improved swiftly and with a big run sped past Moon Walker. Ice Crystal surged ahead of the stable mate Moon Walker in the closing stages to finish second..

Jockey R.J.Hannam continued to keep his tally ticking with a win on L.V.R.Deshmukh’s Samba (Varenar-Takestwototango / Ruia Stud) in the lower division of the Fond Hope Plate. Composure had assumed command approaching the last 600 metres and led till into the last 100 metres. Hannam pulled out Samba and the filly began to respond to the veteran’s urgings and with a swift gallop sped past to spare three quarters of a length at the wire. Supurinto went wide under pressure inside the final furlong and finished in the money, a shade behind Composure. Shaandar finished fourth in the same picture frame.

L.D’Silva trained Palisades Park (Phoenix Tower-Sunshiner / Manjri Stud) was taken on a start to finish bid by apprentice Md Ismail and kicked on when Gorgeous Lady came up with a strong effort in the last furlong. The favourite Indian Dreams closed up late but could only finish third.
