C.D.Monnappa trained Jolfa (Bushranger-Royal Superlative / Nanoli Stud) won the BOL Publication Trophy that featured Tuesday’s races at Mysore. Three horses were withdrawn after leaving the parade ring including the firm favourite Himalaya and the field was reduced to eleven runners. Jolfa received strong support in the reduced field to be the new favourite. Oceana after running prominently with the front bunch till turning for home shot ahead on top of the straight. Jolfa gained ground from the outside and easily swept past the front runners to win by a good margin. Poet ran on to be second while Domirtia and Ireland finished together in that order for the minor placing.  

It turned out to be a ‘no contest’ for Bipin V Salvi’s debutante Master Of Universe in the opener of the day, the Abide Plate. Silvery Grey went to the front from the start and Master Of Universe waited behind in second. Entering the home stretch Master Of Universe headed past the leader without exerting any pressure and literarily ran away from the field. Good Earth galloped late to beat Silvery Grey on the post for the runner-up berth. Lord Iisley filled the frame.

C.Girinath trained Bandito (Phoenix Tower-Athymia / Manjri Stud) produced a brilliant turn of foot in the last 200 metres to down the favourite Excelerate in the Star Supreme Plate. Bandito had advertised its chances while finishing second in the previous outing in the lower class. The trainer decided to opt for 4 kilograms allowance with an apprentice and the 7 years old gelding was completely ignored in the betting. Excelerate followed the leader Lucky Pineapple till the top of the straight and surged ahead to take control. While Excelerate continued to hold the advantage in the final furlong Bandito came with a forceful gallop from behind and collared the favourite close to the winning post.Abderus edged out Lucky Pineapple for the third place. Arrive was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

Trainer Vishal Yadav had a quick double through Campeon and Dare The Don, both at longer odds. Campeon (Black Cash-Eka / Equus Stud) scored a thrilling win in the Diabolical Plate beating more fancied stable companion Anvill Star on the post. Entering the final furlong Srinath had driven Anvill Star to grab the lead from Castlebar and was looking good when Campeon came tearing down the stretch from way behind to snatch the race in the shadow of the winning post.

Dare The Don (Varenar-Balance De Power / Equus Stud) sprang a surprise in the Tapathi Plate. Last outing winner was looking for a second successive win and set off on a start to finish bid over the sprint trip. Dare The Don picked up momentum passing the distance post and with a sustained effort sped past. The well backed Eloika charged in late to take the second spot ahead of Dreamliner. Reckless ended up fourth.

Napolean Dynamite (Storm Trooper-Pamela Bird / Chhatari Stud) produced a fast gallop in the last furlong to win the Oxford Blue Plate. Sazae San got to the front approaching the 800 metres and came in first on the straight. Sazae San still had the advantage passing the distance post but started to drift out when the rider picked up the whip from the right. The rider of Sazae San took some time to change the whip hand and correct the drift and by then Napolean Dynamite came flying from behind and nailed the ‘maiden’ San. Time Always and Beautiful Revenge finished third and fourth respectively.

G.Srinivas Babu trained Siddhi (Princely Heir-Career Collection / Pratap Stud) beat the favourite Excelonce in the last race of the day, the Sea Bisquit Plate to enable a lone ticket en-cash the Jackpot pool. Excelonce was taken to the front right from the word ‘go’ by S.John and had a lead of over four lengths entering the straight. Siddhi took the shortest way on the straight and in a swift move emerged out of the pack following Excelonce. Galloping strongly in the last 100 metres Siddhi scored her first win on this track. Excelonce stayed on to finish second. The Disciple and Zoe finished third and fourth respectively in a close finish. One Of A Kind was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.
