S.S. Attaollahi trained Siobhan (Burden Of Proof-Knockenduff / Nanoli Stud) slammed the opposition in the H.H. Sri Krishnaraja Wadiyar Memorial Trophy (Gr.3) that featured Friday’s races at Mysore. Jockey A. Sandesh was quick to take the filly towards the rails to get to box seat from an outward draw as the gates opened for the seven furlongs race. Micky Mouse took over the running soon and Siobhan settled nicely in second. As they came into the straight Siobhan picked up speed readily and surged ahead to gain control. The filly galloped nicely to keep the rest at bay in a fast timing. The local challenger Savannah Sound did well to beat the rest while its stable mate Sea Lagoon covered plenty of ground from the rear to take the third place. The favourite Bold Command finished on a tame fourth.

Silver Ikon (Green Coast-Premier Thrill / AB Stud) was sent off as the overwhelming favourite among the 14 runners for the division I of the B.K. Krishnadevaraj Urs Memorial Cup. The youngster showed good early speed to move quickly from an outward draw and settle behind Greek Goddess who shot off to lead them. Inside the last 400 metres Silver Ikon headed past the leader without any fuss and won with a measure of comfort. Taqdeer Ka Badshah charged in late to take the second spot with Fair Game and Saigar also coming in late to fill the frame in that order.

Another well backed favourite, Lord Buckingham (Lucifer Sam-Reflectance) from trainer Warren Singh’s stables won the lower division of the race. Lord Buckingham raced handily in fifth till approaching the final bend and improving gradually was beside Tamara and Queenofgoodtimes passing the last 300 metres board. The bay colt surged ahead effortlessly and drew away from the rest. Majestic Style started to raise a gallop rather late to get to the second spot while Tamara finished third. Skyjet finished fourth. Lord Darlington and Star Atrium were withdrawn.

Kishan Thomas trained Amazing Redd (Burden Of Proof-Canadian / Kunigal Stud) won the B. Shettigeri Plate. Jockey P.P. Dhebe took the gelding to the front right from the start and maintained that lead all throught the mile trip. Flirting Eyes, Native Elements and Arak were up with a challenge throughout the last 250 metres but they were left to settle for the minor places in that order. Back Of Beyond was withdrawn near the starting gates.

M. Bobby trained Here’s Abbey (Abbeyside-Herecomesthebabe / Dashmesh Stud) scored its second successive victory in an amazing fashion in the Lt.Col. D.K. Mistry Memorial Plate. Here’s Abbey trailed the field till the last 800 metres and gradually started to improve position. The 5 year old was still in about fifth entering the straight but maneuvering its way through horses she came with a flourish in the last 100 metres to wrap up the race. Sans Frontieres and Green Meadow rallied on in second and third respectively. Sky Jasmine after leading till the top of the straight finished fourth. Micron Yaacow was a non-starter.     

Trainer Pradeep Annaiah who had a fruitful summer at Bangalore continued with his success streak at Mysore. His 3 year old filly Tanishka (Total Gallery-Majjani) opened her account in the division I of the Squanderer Plate. This five and a half furlongs scurry was for horses rated below 25 and the jockeys were not permitted to carry a whip. Apprentice Nazerul Alam piloting Tanishka took the filly to the front from the widest draw and made every post a winning one. Outrider managed to beat Black Lightening for the second place with last outing winner Anmol Hira finishing fourth. Perfect Stride was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

Apprentice Nazerul Alam used his pushing skills to guide Dheeraj Venkataswamy trained Bold Runner (Mull Of Kintyre-Jade Image / Badal Stud) to a maiden win in the lower division. Bold Runner shot to the front as the gates opened and kicked on in the straight when Cashmere and Spectre tried hard to bridge the gap. The favourite Universal Law ended up a tame fourth.
