After starting off the monsoon season with a win, Top Link had run unplaced in the next two starts. Inside the final 200 metres White Gold began to charge down from the outside but jockey Nakhat Singh rode out Columbus to stay in front by three parts of a length as they went past the winning post. Batur and Negress Pearl finished third and fourth respectively.

The speedy Composure (Mull Of Kintyre-Almost Perfect) made it a pillar to post victory in the Red Surprise Plate. Shooting off to the lead as the gates opened Composure brought the field into view on the straight and kicked on uncontested under apprentice C.P.Bopanna. Rose Eternal, News  O’Star and Desert Moon were hard at work to get to the leader but failed to do so and finished in that order to complete the frame.

M.Sathyanarayana trained Apowerx (Varena-Absolutely Royal) that had run into a suggestive secont in the previous outing opened its account in the division I of the Shamshadabad Plate. The grey filly ran in front of the bunch that were closely huddled in the initial stages and once into the straight opened a lead over the rest. Titus was in hot chase in the last 150 metres but Apowerx stayed clear by two lengths. Breaking News covered plenty of ground from the extreme outside to finish a close third. Free Eagle completed the frame.

In the lower division Donald Netto trained Wannawin (Green Coast-Alamshaara) scored a maiden win. The youngster ridden by Deepak Singh rushed to be in front close to the rails very early in the race.
