Prasanna Kumar trained Astral Force (Excellent Art-Desert Lightning / Poonawalla Astonish Stud) carried the public purse to an impressive victory in the Mysore City Gold Cup, a seven furlongs race for 3 year olds. This was incidentally Astral Force’s maiden win. The bay colt had finished as runner-up to Mr Handsome on debut at Bangalore and was installed as an on-money favourite for the feature event of the season’s concluding day. Mr Handsome won the Madras Gold Vase (Gr.3) at the races in Chennai today.

Beat The Odds set the pace followed closely by Poseidon, Garrison, Silver Dew, Asreal Force, Black Whizz and Deaugen bracing the rear. On entering the straight Beat The Odds started to fade out and Poseidon was quickly in front. Jockey S. john found the gap along the rails opening up and decided to take the shortest way with Astral Force. His ploy paid up and the favourite was well ahead of the rest soon. Poseidon stayed on in second with Garrison finishing third many lengths behind.

M. Bobby trained Batman (Rebuttal-Wellrehearsed / Hazara Stud) pulled away to win impressively in the Andolana Trophy. The 6 year old gelding had a lung opener on this track after shifting base from Western India and was strongly backed down by the connections to be the favourite. Batman was smartly out of the gates and settled in fourth behind Excelonce, Phelps and Benedetta. As they turned for home jockey Sai Kiran wasted no time on the favourite and shot to the front. Batman stretched out in an impressive fashion to extend the winning margin to five lengths from Phelps. Benedetta finished third followed by Murcilago.

Trainer M. Bobby saddled a second winner through Be Bold (Kingda Ka-Ramatni / Nanoli Stud) in the division I of the Aperitivo plate. The well planned gamble by the connections paid off with the gelding ridden by Deep Shanker pulling it off in a thrilling three way finish. Racing a handy fourth till entering the straight Be Bold started to get stronger from the outside. Magnum Opus was also in the fight alongside and Unbelievable came flying from the rear. The three headed towards the finish together and Be Bold had his neck stick out on the post. Magnum Opus was second and Unbelievable finished third. Dare The Don completed the frame.Jolfa was a non-starter in the race.

S. Rakesh trained Natanza (Arabian Gulf-Bratz / Manjri Stud) scored impressively in the lower division. Natanza had run a suggestive fourth in the last run and with Imran Chisty on the saddle , was sent off as the favourite among the dozen runners for the 1200 metres sprint. The bottom weighted Atlantis stormed ahead to get to the front as the gates opened and Natanza was up with the pace in second. Imran Chisty started to urge Natanza as they approached the last 200metres and the gelding took over the running without much fuss and drew clear. Atlantis stayed on in second while Rare And Bold beat Accuracy for the third place.      

Md Sajid Qureshi trained Eyez Hypnotize (Stardan-Born Beauty / Rolli Stud) scored a maiden win in the Spark Of Life Plate. The filly who was on her 12^th start started to chase the leader Vroom Vroom right from the start. She got beside Vroom Vroom inside the final furlong and travelling the better, surged clear. Sheer Luck rallied on in third followed by Second Lady.

C.D.Monnappa trained Sufficient Proof (Burden Of Proof-Cool Jazz / Kunigal Stud) found her lost form to win the Sriharikota Plate by a lengthening margin. The 9 year old Sans Frontieres who was on its last race of the career went to the front in its usual fashion. The gelding brought the field into view on the straight and the well backed Protector Of Paris grabbed the lead soon. The joy for Protector Of Paris was short lived as Sufficient Proof gathered momentum from behind and sped past. Apprentice Sunil Samson kept the ‘stick’ going on Sufficient Proof and the mare accelerated each time she felt the stick and extended the margin of victory to over six lengths. Gracious was the best of the beaten lot followed by Sans Frontieres and Protector Of Paris.

The 9 year old Anonymous (Adler-Anonymity / Kunigal Stud) sporting the colours of Bangalore based trainer Sharat Kumar ended his career in winning style in the lower division of the Indi Plate. Iconic Glory was the first to take the initiative approaching the last 300 metres and was quickly joined by Anonymous. The two started to fight it out and Anonymous pulled through in the last few strides. Good Earth cought the eye while finishing a close third. Surprise Package, Zoe and Untapable were non-starters in the race.

Vishal Yadav trained Perfecto (Multidimensional-Violet Honey / Usha Stud) brought the curtains down over the winter season with an easy win in the division I of the Indi Plate. Racing close with the front bunch, Perfecto took charge mid-way up the straight and drew clear by a lengthening margin. Leap Of Faith was in contention till entering the straight and stayed on in second followed by Flash Time and Safe Bet.
