The sensation from trainer M. Sathyanarayana’s stables, Dream Catcher (Green Coast-Florshien) continued his winning streak to register a fourth straight win in the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy Memorial Cup, a 1400 metres trip for horses in the highest class. The speedy Amorous White had won the start from the inner most draw and piloted the field while Dream Catcher was settled nicely in about sixth position. As they straightened for the final run, jockey Akshay Kumar found a wide gap along the inner rails and took Dream Catcher through that. Dream Catcher galloped like a true champion to gain the lead almost a furlong from the winning post and scored yet another comfortable victory. Exclusive Wind rallied in late to beat Amorous White for the runner-up berth. Breezeofthesouth completed the frame.

In the opening event of the day, the Prince Pradeep Plate, K.V. Srinivas trained Far Sight (Multidimensional-Farrfesheena / Usha Stud) managed to edge out Euro Zone on the post. Euro Zone likes to lead the field every time he runs and was again in front to do that duty over the mile trip. Far Sight was off the pace in second last till the last 400 metres and then started to improve through the shortest way. The two almost paired up inside the final furlong and it was left for the respective riders to show off their basic riding talent in this ‘no whip’ race. The duo matched every stride in the final stages and the bobbling of the heads went in favour of Kuldeen Singh and Far Sight. Bayrd and Treasure Striker filled the frame in that order.

L.D’Silva trained San Vinto (Steinbeck-Only Royale) scored an encore in the division I of the Best Of Fun Plate. Free Eagle led the pack right from the start and held forte till into the home straight. Passing the 300 metres board the leader started to shorten its stride and San Vinto came up strongly from behind to score over the nine furlongs trip. Free Eagle weakened further to lose the second place to Golden Xanthus.

In the lower division S.S.Faisal Hassan trained Royal Hero (Samhoon-In To The Future) was given a tactful ride to pull it off. Silver Dollar went on a start to finish bid and had a lead of about three lengths entering the straight. As they passed the 400 metres board Royal Hero galloped from behind and stormed ahead and drew clear to take a good lead and that came in handy in the end as George Cross started to get closer with every stride but fell short by half a length. Silver Dollar stayed on in third followed by the race favourite Hope Is Eternal.

D. Netto trained Titus (Green Coast-Sabakh) scored an encore in the division I of the Chowmahalla Plate. The gelding was up with the bunch till into the straight and as they came into the last 300 metres picked up momentum responding to Deepak Sings riding and stretched clear. Exclusive Symbol ran on to be second while Vallee Bloomer after leading till the straight fell back to be a tame third.

K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s Gladstone (Chinese Whisper-Feet Of Flames) scpred a second successive victory in the lower division. Cutting the wind right from the start, Gladstone came in first into the home stretch and started to draw away from the rest to register a big win with apprentice Kunal Bunde. Lord Gift was in chase all the way but lost out the second place in the last few strides to Money Time. Lady Admiral filled the frame.

Prasad Raju and Kunal Bunde picked up their double through Reach The Heights (Lucifer Sam-Celestrella) in the division I of the King’s Crown Plate. The 4 year old gelding that was a maiden from 20 starts was installed as the favourtie at 16-10 among the 14 contenders in the field. As they turned for home Cashel was the first to go for it and Yes Baby started to rally strongly from the inside. Reach The Heights was brought from around them by Kunal Bunde and the three were in a line approaching the winning post. Reach The Heights stretched out by half a length at the wire with Cashel and Yes Baby separated by a short-head for the second and third places respectively. Indian Knight completed the frame.

R.H. Sequeira trained Rohini (Tariq-Lakhadema) opened her account in the 20th start in the lower division of the race. Chasing the early leader Trumph Boy till into the straight, Rohini surged ahead to grab the lead and won warding off the threesome of Gaandeevan, Top Sprint and New Hope. Bahagar and Moonflash were non-starters in the race.
