Pesi Shroff trained Dixieland (Holy Roman Emperor – Maun Vrat, Nanoli Stud) pulled off a neat start to finish victory, her first from five starts.

Dixieland had shown enough spark in her last run while going down narrowly to Till The End Of Time. With a switch in weights this time, Dixieland had no trouble heading the field early and then galloping at a brisk pace right through to steer clear of her rivals all the way home.

Gold Bond, treading on the turf first time this season showed no sign of any rustiness and galloped fluently as well. He beat all bar Dixieland and that was a decent effort after the brief layoff. Porvi did well to end in the money - a first for the grey filly after a spate of non-productive outings.

Double Nine (Stern Opinion – Chiquelle, Pratap Racecitement Stud) fired on all cylinders at the business end to emerge the winner easily in what was expected to be a keen finish. Prime fancy Anacapri failed to make any impact going down tamely showing a dip in form.

Wild Fire hit the front and led them into the straight with Double Nine in second, followed by God’s Own, Anacapri and no-hoper Undisputed in that order. Double Nine started to cover ground briskly in the straight and soon had the measure of Wild fire. Once in the lead, jockey PS Chouhan goaded Double Nine who moved smoothly picking up speed and adding distance with each stride. Double Nine won with something to spare. God’s Own improved well towards the end to peg back Wild Fire. Anacapri ended a poor fourth.

Jockey P Trevor continued his good form and is well on course to the Champion jockey title scoring a fine treble on the day. He took off with a splendid win atop long-shot Texas Gold doing well to carry the top weight to victory in the second race of the day.

Goshawk was the hot favourite and with Gloriosus garnering good support too, Texas Gold was available at nourishing odds. Samarjeet got past early leader Caesars Star but was soon hunted down by Gloriosus once in the straight. Goshawk improved from the last position to be in striking position but started hanging out at a crucial juncture. Texas Gold (Chinese Whisper – Oceanic Wisdom, Tohana Stud) started gathering momentum midway up the straight and finished on full of steam to collar the front running trio and zipped past them all to notch up an impressive victory despite giving weight to them all.

Trevor scored another prolific victory again astride top weight Finest Moment (Indygo Shiner – Winning Kiss, Hazara Stud) over 2000m. This one’s for literally an armchair ride to victory for Trevor.

Settling behind the leader Grapevine, Finest Moment shot ahead soon on turning for home. He then accelerated fluently and stormed further ahead leaving no chance for the rest of the field to even make a fight of it. Finest Moment won untroubled and kept bounding ahead to score an emphatic victory, promising an encore in the manner he notched up this commanding victory.

Trevor capped his day with another stylish victory partnering joint favourite Wilshire (Phoenix Tower – Kalpita, Manjri Stud) in the concluding race of the day.  Trevor had Wilshire in the mid-bunch as Bee Quirky set the tone leading them into the straight.

Philadelphia moved up paces and had barely taken the lead when Wilshire arrived with a good run. They tussled a couple of strides before Wilshire started to pull away from Philadelphia. Wilshire got away in the final furlong to score a fashionable victory, his second this season.  Philadelphia held on to the runner up berth, while Highland Woods earned place money. Brave, who got strong support at race time, even nudging out Wilshire in the betting, ended a tame fourth.

Perpetual Winning (Net Whizz – Perpetual Glory, Hazara Stud) showed marked improvement over his last couple of starts and made it count on the day with a sparkling performance earning him a much satisfying maiden victory. Favourite Mount Olympus took jump hit front and led them into the straight. However, he soon ran out of gas and Perpetual Winning had no difficulty in collaring him and then speeding away. Perpetual Winning scored a resounding win bagging the race with more than 4 lengths to spare.

Sangramsingh Joshi’s Arc of Passion (Tariq – Passion, Equus Stud) finally achieved her maiden victory in the hands of apprentice K Nazil. Sitting in fourth along the rails, Arc of Passion drew closer to the front runners in the straight. Arvan, who was heavily backed, put up a strong fight until the final moments of the race. He was in the lead with a furlong to go and warded off Tally Ho ably, but when Arc of Passion challenged him, he was floored. Arc of Passion moved the fastest in the final 100 to score with a measure of comfort.

Hormuz Antia trained Untitled (Sussex – Overdrive, Pratap Stud) has done well this season chalking up two wins in her first two starts and then picking up a third win, this time in the higher class.

Taking off at a good pace to lead the field Untitled built up a handy lead coming into the straight. The Antia ward galloped gallantly right through keeping the hard-ridden favourite Epiphany at bay. It looked a close finish, but Untitled did not relent and galloped gamely all the way to the winning post. Grand Tenton weaved his way between horses and finished well taking the second spot from Epiphany.

For the professionals, Trevor returned with a rich treble and jockey Sandesh scored a double.
