After his facile victory on Derby-day, Botswana Bolt competing in the Racing Patrons Trophy was fancied most. The in-form Darius Byramji ward again looked a picture of fitness at the parade ring and with the leading pro Srinath to guide his fortunes in the seven furlongs trip recorded his second straight victory. The winner, who had it easy in his last attempt needed to produce his best and stretch every sinew to peg back Royal Serenity, who had won her start in emphatic fashion. The winner is in rousing form and is likely to complete a hat-trick of wins when he starts his summer campaign.

The Neil Darashah-trained Dont Dilly Dally, Malawi from the stables of Sulaiman Attaollahi and Noahs Ark from Neil Devaney's yard topped the betting list in the Kumararajah M A M Muthiah Trophy run over a sprint. Malawi, Sandesh astride and Noahs Ark piloted by Trevor hit the front soon after the dozen runners came under the starter's flag and cut each others throat before they negotiated the final curve. However, Malawi kicked clear at this stage before she started to run out of gas in the final furlong. The ten to one shot Louisiana from Faraz Arshad's yard produced a sparkling gallop in the hands of apprentice Nazer-Ul-Alam in the final furlong to reach home first ahead of Malawi who held on to gain the runner-up spot by the shortest of margins from Ultimate Magic while Dont Dilly Dally finished a poor fourth.

In the Ardent Knight Plate, a event for juveniles, the top choice War Hero made every post a winning one in the hands of Trevor Patel, not before he was given a scare by Rajveer from Prithviraj's yard close home.The runner-up despite looking a trifle gross in the paddock made a heartwarming debut and is one for the notebook. Sakura finished third ahead of Decisive.. The first three have tremendous scope for improvement and it will pay to keep an eye on the three in summer.

John packed punch on the Prasanna schooled Shades Of Desire to reign supreme in the Antara Gange Plate after the lesser fancied Rhapsodyein Queen looked set to land the spoils. The winner is in good heart and is set to provide an encore. Tokyo Rose who appears to have improved finished third ahead of Amberlino.

The opening event was claimed by the Samar Singh-trained Czar Rule piloted by apprentice jockey Naveen who edged out the Nithyanand-trained Declarationoflove by the shortest of margins. While Czar Rule helped Samar Singh add to his tally of two winners, Declarationoflove's so near and yet so far effort only ensured that Nithyanand stays a maiden this season. Masters Glory finished a creditable third ahead of Proudprince while the favourite and the moody Midnight Sky was out of it even before the race came on a boil.

The Gregory Sandhu-trained Black Lightning started the favourite in the upper division of the Suresh Kumar Sharma Memorial Plate before money came pouring in on the Imtiaz Khan ward Blue Blazer piloted by Pradeep Chouhan. The public choice lost a race which he should have won thanks to the injudicious effort of Chouhan who first chose to make his run on the rails bafore he took a while to shift out and this helped the four to one shot Golden Bow gain the day in the hands of Ahsan Qureshi who produced a copybook effort on the Prithviraj ward. Black Lightning in his start to finish mission managed to only save place money.

Bellerophon finally earned his winning bracket. The Neil  Darashah ward proved too good for his 11 rivals in the Shivaganga Plate. The Inayathullah-trained Tea Wid Me was fancied strongly by the stable connections but the seven-year-old mare was in no mood to have tea and finished in the ruck. Assertive Prince finished a game second behind the winner while Tic Tac Toe came home third.

Apprentice jockey Anthony Raj and Powerscourt dropped the biggest bombshell in the concluding event, the lower division of the Suresh Kumar Sharma Memorial Plate. After gracing the wrong end of the field for most part of the sprint trip, Powerscourt made rapid progress in the straight before she flew home in style. Celtic Mist did well to finish second ahead of the favourite Humming Bird who did everything right before going down tamely in the final furlong.
