Trainer Imtiaz A Sait Leading Caprisca (S Zervan UP) Winner OF The Hyderabad Race Club Trophy

Imtiaz Sait trained Caprisca (Steinbeck – Xisca, Usha Stud) notched up his second victory on the trot with Zervan guiding him deftly. Zervan had a couple of issues to deal with, first when he fell back to the last position soon on settling down after a good start and then in the straight, he had to check his mount at a crucial juncture and switch lanes to make his final run. Caprisca was up to the task and endured the difficulties and managed to score comfortably.

Exodus got past Square Moon soon on turning for home and took charge. While Square Moon weakened, Frivolous made a serious attempt at grabbing the lead, but failed to sustain. Caprisca moved between this pair and made a good forward surge past the distance post to knock down his rivals and speed away to pile up more than two lengths while winning with ease.

Just a race earlier, Zervan piloted Strong Storm (Strong Suit – Seeking Glory, Manjri Stud) to a facile victory. Zervan shot ahead early and led the field all the way into the straight. Once in the straight, Strong Storm galloped majestically with Zervan starting to move his hands and heels past the 300m. Strong Storm galloped away, adding distance with every stride to steer clear of the rest and romp home to notch up her maiden victory in only her second start.

Young apprentice jockey Zeeshan too scored a double starting off with a fluent victory atop Flower Dust (Mull of Kintyre – Fatinat Al Melouk, Bloodhorse Stud) her second successive win. This one was even easier as Zeeshan got Flower Dust to move ahead nice and early to take the lead and then kept the momentum going all through. Arashi, who had only one behind her at the early stages, made gradual progress to be third entering the straight. Sandesh had left too much to do in the straight as he had given away a big advantage to the favourite early on. With Flower Dust galloping sweetly all the way, all Sandesh could do was watch the leader go on to win handsomely.

Zeeshan next partnered Royal Blood (Tariq – Royal Princess, Equus Stud) to provide the Rehanullah Khan ward his maiden victory on 15th attempt. It was a well-fought win as Abraxas had a handy lead up the straight and was shaping up well too past the distance post. Zeeshan was persistent with his riding and pushed Royal Blood all the way to collar Abraxas a couple of strides from the finish to carve out a narrow win. Bewitched warded off Outstanding for the third.

Bunting (Intense focus – Misteireach, Nanoli Stud) pulled off an impressive start to finish win with Sandesh in the saddle. The hot favourite hurtled out of the gates showing quick paces to lead them all the way into the straight.

Into the straight, Bunting galloped on relentlessly, staying well clear of his rivals. Collegium tried hard to catch up but just could not match the pace at which Bunting was speeding towards the winning post. Bunting eventually won by a healthy margin.

Rain Dance (Arabian Gulf – Radiating, Manjri Stud) upset all calculations dishing out a winning performance and flooring many of the pool hunters. Apprentice Shubham bided his time keeping Rain Dance well in touch in the front bunch.

Knight’s Quest led the field home bound and was galloping hard to stay ahead. Royal Mews tried to get alongside but failed. Grey flannel could dope with the weight and bowed out after being a prominent second in the straight.

Knight’s Quest was toiling hard to keep his lead, even successfully thwarting a serious attempt from Make It Shine. However, Shubham timed his run to a nicety and arrived with a late bid to get past Knight’s Quest at just the right juncture to carve out a narrow win for Rain Dance.

For the professionals, jockeys S Zervan and Zeeshan scored a double each.
