The classy son of Uncle Mo out of Hungarian Boatbaby in the hands of young Yash Narredu pulled the plug and blew the fuse in the Juvenile Sprinters’ Million, romping home in a record time, 1:10.71 seconds bettering the existing mark of (1:11.27) registered by Six Speed in 2014.

It was sheer class. The winner, who played up and was in no mood to get to the starting gates, jumped out quick and fast the moment the starter lowered the flag and dictated the pace all through the six furlongs trip. And after negotiating the final curve it simply was catch me if you can. None among the four including the on-money favourite Athenaeus and the second in demand at the betting ring, Knotty Ash could get close. He simply showed a clean and powerful pair of heels to dash home in an unbelievable time at this centre and boy this colt simply is a killer. To mention that he is one of the brightest prospects on the Indian racing circuit is stating the obvious. Yes. You have only seen what he just did on Saturday and many more are in store for the big boy who will only improve and get much better from here. It is needless to mention that Mallesh Narredu will be proud man and so will Yash be. The two along with the record breaker provided a heartwarming evening for the racing buffs, who never mind losing out on the two top fancies put their hands together to applaud the top drawer effort of Sea Quest. This simply was the best of the summer season and it will remain the No-1 effort of summer.

For the record. Knotty Ash finished second ahead of Southern Legacy while the public choice Athenaeus burst his blood vessels and finished last.

The principal added attraction, the Karnataka Police Cup was claimed by the Hyderabad challenger Breezeofthesouth in the hands of leading pro Y S Srinath. The winner produced a winning gallop past the distance post to take charge and then held on gamely to score from Super Success and the favourite Big Heart.

Srinath later recorded a double guiding home the second in demand at the betting ring, Subah Ka Tara to an emphatic victory in the Camineto Plate run over a sprint. The winner, who looked a picture of fitness at the parade ring put the issue beyond doubt the moment he streaked ahead at the top of the straight. The favourite Diamond Rays found Subah Ka Tara too hot to handle and only could finish second ahead of War Hero. The winner is in great heart and it will pay to follow Subah Ka Tara again next time out.

Earlier the well fancied Castaway won the Red Divine Plate with a degree of comfort from Whizzo. The runner-up did well in his maiden effort and it will not be long before he sheds his maiden status. Sun Power too had a fair share of his followers but the Satish Narredu ward after being prominently placed at the top of the straight failed to match strides with the first four.

The opening event produced a shock result, the eight to one shot Internal Affair making every post a winning one in the nine furlongs Azhar Plate. Kiran Rai rode a confident race on the winner, who after setting his own pace never let the initiative slip. The public choice My Valentine gained the runner-up berth ahead of Kings Kid while Aleef came home fourth.

The Faraz Arshad schooled Fresh Start who had caught the eye while finishing a suggestive third in his last essay was strongly fancied by his connections and the gutsy seven-year-old justified the confidence of his supporters edging out Buscadero to the delight of the Faraz camp. Imran Khan produced a copybook effort on the winner guiding him nice and easy all through the backstretch before he packed punch when the race came on a boil to scamper home. Golden Success finished third while the Nithyanand-trained Free Port who had impressed most in his victory on the opening day of the season flopped miserably, unable to negotiate the mile long trip.

Trainer Samar Singh who shared the professional honours with Srinath led in the ten to one shot Turf Tactics who produced a stunning gallop in the hands of Raja Rao in the Young Rajput Plate to lower the colours of Admiral One in the final furlong. The Arjun Manglorkar-trained Find again failed to break level from the gates after which one could not find him in the field even with a good pair of binocs.
