The penultimate day of the Mysore season didn’t go kindly for the followers of form, only two favourites, Sadeek and Snowdon justifying their top billing in the seven-event card.

After finishing a creditable second behind the talented New Creation over a mile in his last essay, Sadeek from trainer Bobby’s yard was fancied most in the Amba Vilas Trophy run over a distance of seven furlongs. The in-form contestant after travelling nice and easy for most part of the trip, to the delight of his supporters, unleashed a winning gallop in the final furlong to romp home in emphatic fashion. Raw Gold, who had surprised most while chalking out a shock win in his last start did it again finishing second ahead of lesser fancied Decisive, while the second in demand at the betting ring, Dixieland lost all her chances at the gates failing to break level from the gates.

The Padmanabhan-trained Snowdon who looked outstanding in the Panchgani Plate run over a mile was miserly quoted at (6/10), but that didn’t stop the big bettors from placing all the big bets and happily watching Snowdon donkey-lick his 13 rivals without unduly extending himself. Aleef gained the runner-up berth edging out the fashionably bred Point To Prove from Arjun Manglorkar’s yard while Ultimate Power ran home fourth.

The second in demand at the betting ring, Royal Serenity from Rajesh Narredu’s yard superbly piloted by Neeraj Rawal came up trumps in the Lavasa Plate run over a sprint. The winner after failing to gain a favourable position early on in the sprint event produced a sparkling gallop the moment Neeraj packed punch and flashed home first to the delight of Rajesh. The favourite Mansuetude finished second ahead of Fringe Benefit while Roosevelt, who too had his fair share of supporters struggled to make the frame.

The Tejaswi schooled Aliboxer produced a knock-out punch in the upper division of the Sidapur Plate run over a sprint. The 20 to one shot piloted by Nirmal Jodha tracked the leader Brown Beauty for most part of the trip before streaking ahead at the distance post to score from the late-finishing Spike. Brown Beauty held on to finish third in front of Malkia.
What really is interesting to narrate in this event is that Humming Bird also from Tejaswi’s yard was one of the fancied contestant in the event. But the `Bird’ failed to take of and finished last while the unfancied Aliboxer finished first. The lower division of the event was claimed by the three to one shot Tin Tin from trainer Surender’s yard. Queenofgoodtimes who looked well set to drop the biggest bombshell a furlong from home drifted out badly and this provided Tin Tin a chance to prove his mettle and the game galloper made most of the opportunity to earn his winning bracket.

Attaboy from Hidayat Khaan’s yard and the Samar Singh-trained Cashmere garnered the maximum support in the Penambur Plate. But both failed in their attempt to earn their cornbill much to the disappointment of punters. The 20 to one shot Propine from Kishen Thomas’ yard stunned the Jackpot pool hunters in the first leg edging out Time Always while all the fancied `Boy’ could do was save the money in place while Cashmere finished in the ruck.

The topweighted Al Dorado after his suggestive effort in his last attempt was the pick of the punters in the opening event. But the favourite piloted by Imran Khan failed to stop Vinod Shinde and Mother Ewa. The advantageously placed in at the scales, Amazing Beauty finished third ahead of Catchy Charger, who raced in patches while Silver Oak was never in the hunt.
