Trainer Darius Byramji leading Set To Win (Y S Srinath Up), winner of The Manasa Sarovara Trophy

A majority of fancied runners stormed into the winners' circle to the delight of the followers of form on Friday. The well backed favourite Set To Win won the Manasa Sarovara Trophy in emphatic fashion. A confident Srinath astride the winner tracked the two leaders Point To Prove and Nitromax for most part of the nine furlongs trip before he setalight the Darius Byramji's ward approaching the distance post and Set To Win responding gamely to his master 's call shot ahead and put the issue beyond doubt in the final furlong. Silver Dew finished on purposefully at end to take the second spot ahead of Point To Prove while Setaglow took the fourth spot.

The principal added attraction, the G Krishnappa Memorial Trophy run over a sprint was split into two divisions. The ten to one shot Daisy Duke from Irfan Ghatala's ward surprised most in the upper division while the on-money favourite Venus Bay proved too good in the lower division.

Last start winner Yerwazan from Prasanna Kumar 's yard garnered the maximum support in the upper division. The top weighted Alpha and Panama from Arjun Manglorkar's yard too had fair share of followers, but it was Daisy Duke in the hands of Anjar Alam who pegged back the public choice much to the delight of a few fluke seekers. The runner-up piloted by Imran Chisty lodged an objection against the winner for coming in sharply and interfering with his progress in the final furlong but the protest didn't merit attention and was rightly overruled. Alpha saved place money while Summer Palace made the frame.

In the lower division, Venus Bay, another contestant from Prasanna Kumar's yard was backed to the exclusion of her 11 rivals and the public choice romped home providing jockey Chisty an arm-chair ride to success. Charmaine found foot too late and finished a suggestive second ahead of Wonder Blaze who nosed out Most Welcome to claim the third spot. The winner is in fine nick and is set to provide an encore when saddled next.

The Amber Regent Plate was also divided in the lower division run over a sprint, Sahara from Neil Darashah's yard cruised home in the hands of Ryan Marshall while the three to one shot Angels Kiss piloted by Srinath came up tops in the upper division.

Angels Kiss who had improved most after recording a shock win in her last essay was fancied sweetly by the right connections and the vastly improved Arjun Manglorkar ward sped home without really extending herself. Angels Kiss is in rousing form and is set to complete a hat-trick of wins if she is judiciously placed in her next attempt. Constantinople finished second ahead of the favourie Aceros who after establishing a sizeable lead approaching the distance didn't have the legs to sustain in the final furlong.

Royal Resolution from trainer Padmanabhan's yard and Sahara garnered the maximum support in the opening event and the latter who had performed below par in her last essay made amends cantering home ahead of the Padmanabhan ward. Anakin caught the eye while finishing a suggestive third and it will pay to follow this Pradeep ward in the months ahead.

The speedy Saint Petersburg from trainer Sulaiman Attaollahi's yard was another on-money favourite who recorded a hat-trick after making a winning comeback at Mysore. Trevor Patel was under no pressure guiding the public choice to a smart victory ahead of Mansuetude and Hot N Fire. URBB managing director Zeyn Mirza who rated Saint Petersburg high even before this progeny of Air Support made his debut, it is needless to mention, was most pleased with the progress of this Sulaiman ward, who now is ready to make his presence felt against the higher rated sprinters in the weeks ahead.

The top weighted Ultimate Power from Lokanath Gowda's yard won the Native Chieftan Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs. Darshan produced a copybook race on the winner. Scarlet Princess who received good support despite H Rathod entrusted the task to guide her home finished a tame fourth. Depth Charge finished second ahead of Kingofhearts.
