Mr P Prabhakar Reddy & trainer Arjun Mangalorkar (Deputising trainer S S Attaollahi) leading Punjabi Girl (P Trevor Up), winner of The Kanteerva Cup

Back after booting home two winners in the final two events in Mumbai on Thursday, top gun Trevor Patel was the toast of the railbirds in Bengaluru on Friday booting home four winners to the delight of his supporters. The leading saddle artiste opened his account through Alexandre Dumas in the Prince Ardent Salver run over a distance of seven furlongs. The Kingda Ka progeny from the stables of Sulaiman Attaollahi, who was fancied most produced a sparkling gallop in the final furlong to justify the confidence of his followers, chalking out his maiden success in convincing fashion. Port Beauty gained the runner-up berth ahead of Kirkwood while Chantelle, who made all the early running had to rest content with the fourth spot.

Astride another Sulaiman ward Punjabi Girl, back after her campaign in Kolkata, Trevor produced a copy book effort on the second favourite, biding his time before timing his final challenge to nicety in the Kanteerava Cup, the plum event run over seven furlongs. Surf Romance who streaked ahead at the distance post before going down to the winner close home appears to have improved. The topweighted Fire Glow did well to finish third ahead of Pinyada. The favourite Lofty Thoughts raced in patches and it was no surprise that the Prasanna ward, who had registered a `hat-trick' failed to make the frame.

In line for a hat-trick, Trevor guiding the fortunes of the eight to one shot Into The Groove, another winner from Sulaiman's yard packed punch to upset the apple cart of the on-money favourite Blue Moon from trainer Neil Darashah's yard. The public choice who was backed to the exclusion of her eight rivals failed to display her true potential and that made the task of Into The Groove easy at end. Spiritous finished third while Revan Star completed the frame. As far as Blue Moon is concerned she needs another chance to make amends of her costly failure.

On a high after combining effectively with Sulaiman and recording a treble, Trevor astride the lesser fancied Propine from Kishen Thomas' yard produced his best to sign off in style, coming up tops in the Brahmaputra Plate run over 1100M. In a pulsating finish Propine edged out last start winner Perfect Goldenera and Mischief Flyer. The top fancy Soviet Union from Narayan Gowda's yard after promising much disappointed failing to even save place money.

The concluding event, the lower division of the Becket Trophy was claimed by the second favourite Maybe Forever from Prithviraj's yard. The winner piloted by the talented apprentice Manish pegged back Bold Move and Gold Mist while the public choice Silken Striker was never in the hunt.

The upper division of the event also saw the favourite Kvasir bite the dust. The Prasanna ward was strongly fancied to score in this moderate set but the five-year-old gelding could never get going and eventually finished in the ruck. The Parvati Byramji-trained Madame Sultana made every post a winning one in the hands of Irvan Singh comfortably snuffing out the challenge of Tarini while Reczai took the third spot.

Earlier, T S Jodha packed punch on the Imtiaz Khan-trained Naayaab to win the lower division of the Karwar Plate. The lesser fancied winner edged out Premier Premises and Kruger Park in a close finish. The favourite Kanthka, who was touted a good bet from the Narayan Gowda camp flopped in his attempt to make his connections smile, failing to even make the frame.

The Narayan Gowda camp, however, bounced back to recover their losses through Land Of Liberty in the next event, the Kudremukh Plate. The winner proved too good for his 11 rivals cruising home without really being extended by Rajesh Kumar. James Bond caught the eye while gaining the runner-up berth ahead of Yellowzone.

The Prithviraj schooled No Opinion was the most impressive winner in the nine-event card cantering home in the upper division of the Karwar Plate with her pilot A R Pradeep not moving a muscle. The winner is in peak form and is set to provide an encore when saddled next.
