Trainer Irfan Ghatala leading Shesmyscript (P Trevor Up), winner of The Speaker's Trophy

On a day form played true, the followers of form enjoyed a good run, five firm favourites coming up tops in the small six-event on Saturday.  The plum event the Speaker's Trophy was claimed by Shesmyscript from trainer Irfan Ghatala's yard in fine style. The overwhelming favourite produced a sparkling gallop at the all-important end in the hands of leading pro Trevor Patel to snuff out the challenge of Sakura. Rafa caught the eye while finishing third and it will not be long before this Dominic ward enters the winners' circle.

After his impressive effort in his last essay, close third behind the winner Blue Moon and Into The Groove over a seven furlongs trip, Prasanna Kumar schooled Areca Legend proved too good in the V T Velu Memorial Trophy run over a sprint. The Hyderabad challenger Sitara, winner from her two starts at her parent-centre was also fancied strongly by the nawabs of Hyderabad, but all that the filly could do was chase the shadows of Areca Legend. The Prasanna ward is at his best and is ready to provide an encore.

Earlier, the well fancied Hyderabad challenger Lighting Bolt made a smashing debut in the lower division of the Beautiful Babe Plate run
over a sprint. The bred in the purple chestnut colt from trainer Deshmukh's yard despite being drawn badly (12) while making his maiden appearance produced a mature effort in thehands of Hyderabad ace Akshay Kumar taking charge in the final furlong before powering through in effortless style. Unstoppable gained the runner-up berth ahead of  Ice Floe who needed this run under her belt. The second in demand at the betting ring Sea Of Cortez from Neil Darashah's yard who was withdrawn on debatable ground last time failed to make an impression, but will benefit most from this exercise.

The upper division of the race was won by another public choice Storm Breaker from trainer  Mallesh Narredu's yard. The winner confidently piloted by Yash Narredu made every post a winning one. Harbour Sunrise ran on to take the second position ahead of Yours Forever.

Nityanand schooled Star Man shocked the favourite Sahara in the final few strides in the upper division of the Mamma`s Mink Plate. It appeared that Ryan Marshall who was guiding the fortunes of Sahara after establishing a winning lead took it easy and was caught napping at end by Star Man piloted by Shobhan Babu. Ryan's over confident effort cost the punters dear and it is learnt that the stewards of the club have opened an enquiry into the running and riding of Sahara. The Ganapathy-trained Amber Crown finished third suggeting that he is capable of earning his cornbill this season.

In the opening event, Tio Rico from Neil Darashah's yard proved too good chalking out her second straight success after her winter win. Ido What I Do finished second. Mayurana surprised many finishing third.
