Trainer M Bobby leading Sadeek (Hasib Alam Up), winner of The Stewards Trophy

After most favourites played truant on the first four days which resulted in punters losing out big money, the followers of form returned home satisfied on Thursday, most fancied contestants including the public rage Trevalius standing tall at the podium. The short-priced favourite (35/100) from James McKeown's yard, who had impressed most in his debut in the Bengaluru summer season, finishing third behind the winner Shamrock and the runner-up Salento, who won the Deccan Colts Championship Stakes at Malakpet (Hyderabad) 10 days ago, was head and shoulders above his seven rivals in the upper division of the S Hajee Memorial Plate and the talented youngster readily provided leading pro Sandesh an arm-chair ride to success powering home without unduly extending himself in resplendent style. Trevalius, it is clear is in the classic mould and his progress in certain to evoke maximum interest in the weeks ahead. Twilight Tornado from Neil Devaney's yard finished second ahead of Mystic Mountain, while O Kanhaiya completed the frame. The lower division of the event was claimed by the second in demand at the betting ring, Antinori from Vishal Yadav's yard. The winner well supported at (2/1)  snuffed out the pillar to post attempt of the even-money favourite Born King in the final furlong to the delight of her supporters. Fun And Laughter finished third more than ten lengths behind the runner-up, whiile  Knott So Knotty completed the frame.

The public choice Vijaya Miracle looked a picture of fitness at the paddock parade and all credit to trainer Appachu for sending out the in-form contestant spot on for the Indradanush Plate run over 1100 metres. The favourite confidently piloted by Kiran Rai justified his top billing in fine style, producing a winning gallop at the distance post and quickly putting the race to bed in the final furlong. Raptor did well to gain the runner-up berth ahead of the second in demand at the betting ring Gold Charm who lost couple of lengths at the start  and though the promising apprentice pushed the Aditya ward to quickly cover lost ground and stay in contention, Gold Charm, it was clear lacked the gas in the tank to match strides with the winner and had to rest content with the third spot.

The Ramesh schooled Magic Circle and the speedy Mark One from the stables of M R Singh garnered the maximum support in the M B Appaya Memorial Trophy run over a sprint. But it was the lesser fancied Perfect Rendition from Neil Devaney's yard who stole the limelight, powering home in the hands of the in-form apprentice Hasib Alam to the delight of the Devaney camp. The favourite Magic Circle who at one stage looked set to score found the winner too hot to handle. Smart Cadillac finished third ahead of Mark One, who in line for a hat-trick failed to even save money in place. Circus Queen dropped her rider Rahul, while D Roman Reigns lost more than half-dozen lengths at the gates.

Spurred by the success, Hasib warmed the hearts of the knowledgeable producing a near-perfect effort on the seven to one shot Sadeek to upset the applecart of the on-money favourite Forever Together from Rajesh Narredu's yard. The overwhelming favourite in his bid to make every post a winning one had established a two-length break at the top of the straight and looked set to sail through before Hasib slowly, yet surely closed the gap driving Sadeek in determined fashion and the game challenger in the final 100 metres streaked ahead to come up tops in the Stewards Trophy, the plum event run over a distance of seven furlongs. Capable expectedly finished third ahead of Sound Of Canon's who will make his presence felt in sprints.

After the Bobby schooled Johnny Bravo opted out of the final event, the Haveri Plate, the M R Singh-trained Bramastram and Perfectimagination from the stables of Poorna Chandra Tejaswi attracted good support in the betting ring. The former who at end was installed a clear favourite produced a winning gallop in the hands of Nazer-Ul-Alam to peg back the gutsy effort of the topweighted Southern Power from Faraz Arshad's yard. Perfect Imagination piloted by Dhanu Singh failed to make a favourable impression, while Dr Logan did well to finish third.
