Top gun Srinath catapulted to the top of the jockeys leader board recording a popular treble on Friday. The top saddle artiste combined successfully with trainer Faraz Arshad to boot home the two public choices, Bruce Almighty and Tiger Returns before he registered the treble, guiding home the Sulaiman Attaollahi schooled Disruptor in the concluding event.

Srinath took the well-supported Bruce Almighty to the front soon after the relatively small field of five runners came under the starter's flag in the opening event, the Narmada Plate run over a distance of nine furlongs trip and never let the initiative slip, the Faraz Arshad ward gallantly pegging back the challenge of the second in demand at the betting ring, Ring Master from Darius Byramji's yard close home. The runner-up in the hands of John produced his best in the final furlong in his effort to upset the applecart of the winner, but fell short, a `head' separating the two at the finish.  Rule Of Law from the stables of Ganapathy finished a tame third, seven lengths behind the first two.

Astride another strongly supported favourite Tiger Returns in the lower division of the Ted Fordyce Plate run over a sprint, Srinath after jumping out tracked the leader Silver Swift for most part of the trip before he packed punch on the Faraz trainee approaching the distance post and the public choice responding gamely to the master's call stormed up to assume command before putting the issue beyond doubt in the final furlong. The topweighted Super Ruffian did well to gain the runner-up berth ahead of the three to one shot Mystical Merkabah, while the early front runner Silver Swift hung on to complete the frame. The Narayan Gowda schooled Lauterbrunnen on the strength of his impressive third behind the winner Devils Magic and the runner-up English Bay in his last start garnered the maximum support in the upper division. The supporters of the overwhelming favourite considered the speedy customer a cinch in this moderate set and the moment the eight contestants left the paddock, the Narayan Gowda camp went bang-bang in the ring and Lauterbrunnen closed even-money, while the price on Starry Wind, who opened (11/4) drifted out to (4/1). The public choice tracked his stablemate Twilight Fame for most part of the six furlongs trip, but failed to match strides with Starry Wind, who produced a good turn of foot to hit the front approaching the distance post and lasted out, edging out the piping hot favourite much to the disappointment of the large following who made big investments on the Narayan Gowda ward. The topweighted Divine Blessings from Neil Devaney's yard finished on purposefully at end to finish a close third and is one for the notebook. The Inayathullah-trained Air Display, who had her share of followers planted at the gates.

In line for a treble, Srinath had it easy in the concluding event, the upper division of the Zenyatta Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs, the Sulaiman-trained Disruptor providing the star performer an arm-chair ride to success. Eco Friendly caught the eye, while edging out Sacred Creator to take the second spot, ` nose' separating the two at the wire while Disruptor's stablemate Czarevitch again performed below par and failed to even save money in place. The upper division was claimed by the six to one shot Peridot from Irfan Ghatala's yard who produced a sparkling gallop in the final furlong to zoom past the favourite Arrowette and score in emphatic fashion. Darshan who partnered Arrowette needlessly chose to go wide while making his challenge at the top of the straight and this calls for an explanation. The stipes at this centre need to crack the whip on the offenders who time and again take the longer and more tiring route and lose a race which they would have won had they produced a percentage effort.

Advantageously placed at the scales, the Pradeep Annaiah schooled Super Kind generously offered at (5/1), money pouring in on The Inheritor from Sharath Kumar's yard produced a winning gallop at the all-important end to edge out another lesser fancied contestant Montelena and the favourite The Inheritor in a humdinger. The winner piloted by leading pro Trevor Patel in the whipless event looked a picture of fitness at the parade ring but yet was surprisingly ignored in the betting ring. Mystic Eye in fact garnered good support and ended second favourite, closing at (7/2) after being offered at (11/2) at the start. But the Kishan Thomas ward flopped badly in her attempt to make every post a winning one and that cost her supporters dear.

After Synthesis made a smashing debut on Invitation Cup day, the Narredus brought out another goodtype of youngster Champions Way who made a smashing debut in the Black Caviar Plate run over a sprint for maiden juveniles. The winner in the hands of top `Knight' Suraj Narredu hit the front soon after the six youngsters came under the starter's flag and Suraj didn't really need to exert his muscles while guiding the `Champion' home in effortless style. Prophecy from Padmanabhan's yard followed the winner home, while Marzgovel from Sulaiman's stable who was a medium of a princely gamble found the first two too hot to handle and finished more than eight lengths behind the winner. Champions Way is a goodtype of youngster and it will pay to keep a tab on his progress in summer.
