The top weighted Seeking The Stars from the stables of Suraj Shaw set the trend, making every post a winning one in the Revelation Handicap, the opening event run over a sprint. Alex Rozario astride the winner was cool and composed, setting his own pace before sprinting clear in the final furlong. Advantageously placed in at the scales, Safety followed the winner home ahead of Aurora Borealis, who  was fancied sweetly in place and the Robert Foley ward in the hands of Farid Ansari was lucky to gain the third place, edging out Western Girl by the shortest of margins.

On the strength of his two earlier impressive efforts, the James McKeown schooled Ganton was fancied most in the Manitou Handicap run over a distance of seven furlongs and the public choice confidently piloted by the talented apprentice Siddaraju hit the front and never let the initiative slip romping home in convincing style. Reign Of Terror finished on strongly at end to gain the runner-up berth ahead of Wisaka, while Cloud Jumper completed the frame. Wisaka, it appears has improved and it will pay to support this Saddam Iqbal trainee, when saddled next.

Royal Nobility from Robert Foley’s yard provided Farid Ansari an arm-chair ride to success in the Alaindair Handicap run over a mile. Ansari pushed the public choice to the front soon after the eight runners came under the starter’s flag and Royal Nobility simply kept going before showing a clean pair of heels in the final furlong. The winner appears in good nick and is set to provide an encore. Queen Of Fame followed the winner home, while Touch Of Fury finished third ahead of Memory Lane.

After three well fancied favourites came out on top in the first three events, Tycoonist from Vijay Singh’s yard shocked the followers of form producing a winning gallop in the final furlong to peg back Celeste from the stables of Mandanna in the upper division of the Grey Gaston Handicap run over a distance of seven furlongs.  The on-mony favourite Brilliant Lady after being favourably placed at the top of the straight lacked the gas to make a race of it in the `run in’ home and eventually finished in the ruck.

The S Rangarajan Memorial Trophy for juveniles attracted six youngsters and the Vijay Singh schooled debutant, Light The World surprised her five rivals in the hands of english pro Franny Norton winning by a facile margin of six lengths. The favourite Charukala, stablemate of Light The World found the going tough in his debut and only managed to finish a poor fourth. Lesser fancied Falconbridge from Robert Foley’s yard finished second ahead of Vinalia, who was the third runner in the event from the stables of Vijay Singh. Light The World appears a goodtype of youngster and her progress is certain evoke maximum interest.

Priceless Beauty, who found the speedy Soft Whisper too hot to handle in her last start garnered the maximum support in the final event, the lower division of the Grey Gaston Handicap, but the public choice failed to justify her rating, finishing a tame third behind the impressive winner Romualdo from Sebastian’s yard and Annexed under the care of B Suresh.
