Horse owner and sponsor of the Juvenile Million, Mr CV Prasad Rao & Ms Ankitha presenting the CV Prasad Rao Million Trophy to Mr Ashok Ranpise after Excellent Lass won the event

Leading saddle artiste Antony Raj and trainer Imtiaz Khan combined effectively to make a big splash on Friday. The duo recorded a popular treble including La Reina's authoritative victory in the Stayers' Trial Stakes.

The pair first struck through the talented Adjustment in the February Stakes run over a distance of 1100 metres. Despite the fact that Adjustment was making a comeback after a year, his connections fancied him strongly to come good in this set and Adjustment readily justified the confidence of his supporters, producing a satisfactory effort to make a winning comeback. The topweighted Immortal Beauty from Satish Narredu's yard garnered the maximum support, but the bred in the purple filly failed to make an impression and after gracing the wrong end of the field for most part of the sprint dash finished down the field. it is learnt that the public choice returned lame sustaining an injury during the race. Adjustment after seizing the initiative at the top of the straight powered through to quickly put the race to bed in the final furlong and on the strength of this performance is certain to provide an encore. The consistent Fast Response from Dominic's yard followed the smart winner home ahead of Vayu, while Striking Memory from Lokanath's yard completed the frame.

Next astride the on-money favourite La Reina, who looked a picture of fitness at the parade ring, Antony Raj didn't really need to brake sweat, assuming command nice and easy approaching the distance post before powering home in emphatic fashion. Auspicious Queen, who finished last in a four-horse field in her last essay produced a improved performance in the hands of Angad  to gain the runner-up berth ahead of the Mysore challenger Kushaq, while the Prithviraj schooled Karanveer after hitting the front and showing the way for most part of the 12 furlongs trip retired even before the race came on a boil.

In line for a treble, Antony produced a copybook effort on the well-backed Klimt to sign off in style, packing punch on the public choice to reign supreme in the upper division of the Kadambi Falls Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs, . The grey mare Sekhmet from Kishan Thomas' yard opened favourite before money started to pour in on Klimt and the Imtiaz ward to the delight of her supporters streaked ahead in the final furlong to emerge a deserving winner. Je Ne Sais Quoi from Azhar Ali's yard gained the runner-up berth in the hands of Umesh, while the advantageously placed in at the scales, Chiraag finished on purposefully at end to edge out the strongly fancied in place, Embosom, who looked set to gain a place verdict before Aliyar drove Chiraag to gain the third spot.
The upper division of the event saw the four to one shot Raffles from Dominic's yard show a clean pair of heels to his eight rivals including the well supported Singhsaab from Azhar Ali's yard, who to the disappointment of most followers of form failed to break level from the gates and that made the task of Raffles a lot easier. The stipes and stewards who did well to crack the whip on a good number of offenders last week including Antony Raj and Saqlain for dangerous riding will do well to seek an explanation from Azhar and Umesh on Singhsaab's slow get-away from the gates.

The Rajesh Narredu-trained Excellent Lass confidently piloted by Neeraj Rawal came up tops in the CV :Prasad Rao Million which attracted a good field of seven colts and five fillies before the lesser fancied Redefined from Prasanna Kumar's yard bolted at the time of stalling and was withdrawn. Positano from  Sulaiman Attaollahi's yard was fancied most but the public choice warmed up late in the hands of Fanny Norton and finished a worthy second behind the winner. True Punch caught the eye while finishing third and it will not be long before this youngster from the stables of MR Singh sheds his maiden status.
Pleased with the response to the event and the buzz the juvenile race generated, horse owner and sponsor, CV Prasad Rao disclosed that he was immensely pleased with the result and he will continue to pitch in and support the game he loves. "I readily agreed to sponsor the Million, the moment the BTC management committee offered it to me and I'm happy donning a different hat and supporting the sport," said Prasad.

The Ganapathy schooled Stellar Gold was heavily backed in the Dr T Thimmaiah Memorial Cup and that's largely due to the fact that the connections of Armory, it was clear lacked the enterprise and willingness to stake a claim, the Narayan Gowda ward after opening favourite at (14/10) had no takers at (5/1), money from all quarters and groups   pouring in on Stellar Gold in the small four-horse field  Stellar Gold was simply the only horse which was backed and the top fancy partnered by Darshan after a brief duel with lesser fancied Golden Time in the final furlong successfully landed the well planned big gamble. Armory who had the best credentials and was strongly tipped to score lost more than four lengths at the gates and that came as no surprise considering the fact that the price offered by bookmakers on the mare who opened favourite kept going up and up and the punters who fancied Armory, smelling a rat,  too shifted and got into Stellar Gold's winning boat,

The favourite Greeley from Irfan Ghatala's yard proved too good in the opening event, the Vani Vilas Sagara Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs. A confident John produced a neat effort on the public choice who is set to provide an encore if her connections quickly place and race her to again get optimum result. Eco Friendly finished second ahead of last start winner Marco Polo.
