Trainer Deepesh Narredu leading This is Gold (Yash Narredu up), winner of The K Srinivasan Memorial Trophy

After making the big splash in the Indian Derby at Mahalaxmi on the first Sunday of February, Yash Narredu  maintained his winning streak and again stole the limelight, combining effectively with brother Deepesh to record a grand treble at Guindy on Friday.

The duo first struck through the on-money favourite Glorious King in the Mother’s Boy Handicap run over a distance of seven furlongs. The winner, who won his last start over a mile in emphatic fashion was strongly supported to register an encore and the good type of youngster in the hands of Yash pegged back the challenge of the lesser fancied Multicrown to record his second straight success. The winner is in fine form and is set to register a hat-trick, if his connections place him well in his next essay.

Spurred by the success, the Narredu brothers struck it rich again in the next event, the K Srinivasan Memorial Trophy, another on-money favourite This Is Gold proving too good for her seven rivals, cruising home without unduly being extended to the delight of the followers of form. Rankoutsider All Stars from Sebastian’s yard followed the winner home, while the second in demand at the betting ring Val D’Aran only managed to save money in place.

In line for a treble, Yash astride the second choice Golden Warrior chose to make every post of the 2000 metres trip a winning one and he successfully did it to the delight of the Narredu camp. Neeraj Rawal astride the  even-money favourite Sierra Dela Plata was not at his best, failing to powerfully drive the favourite when the McKeown ward was ready and willing to overhaul  Golden Warrior. Neeraj only kept threatening the leader  shifting in and out and this helped Yash complete a treble.

Yash and Deepesh apart, Sebastian and the promising Inayat recorded a double through the two public choices, Safety and Wind Symbol. The former fancied most in the opener, the lower division of the Sir Ivor Handicap produced a sparkling gallop in the `run in’ home to stand tall at the podium, while Wind Symbol competing in the Sardar KB Ramachandraraj Urs Memorial Trophy  produced a heartwarming effort to snuff out the challenge of the lesser fancied Priceless Ruler close home. Second in demand at the betting ring, Golden Marina raced in patches and finished third ahead of Fun Storm, while Empress Eternal who was fancied most in place, much to the chagrin of her supporters  failed  to hit the board.

The five to one shot Race For The Stars came up tops in the lower division. A picture of fitness at the paddock parade, the Robert Foley ward made every post a winning one in the hands of Hindu Singh to the satisfaction of her supporters, who were very bullish of her chances to upset the applecart of the favourite Sonic Dash, who performed below par and eventually finished in the ruck.  Diamond And Pearls followed the winner home ahead of Proposed, who caught the eye purposefully finishing on and is one for the notebook.

Robert earlier led in the ten to one long shot Star Of Liberty who showed a clean pair of heels to her nine rivals including the public fancy, Choice in the upper division of the Sir Ivor Handicap. The winner partnered by Sah Farid Ansari is in good nick and is set to provide an encore. Zaneta finished a game third ahead of Dear Lady from Uthaiah’s yard, who lacked the willingness and the enterprise to perform to her ability.
