The speedy Bangalore raider Galactical from the stables of Pradeep Annaiah confidently piloted by leading saddle artiste Srinath outclassed his seven rivals to win the Chief Minister’s Trophy in a common canter. The winner, who had won his last start here at Guindy in effortless style again didn’t need to exert himself to provide an encore and justify his short-price at the bookmakers ring. Galactical is in rousing form and is set to register a hat-trick, when saddled next. Last start winner Wind Symbol followed the winner home, while Legendary Striker finished third ahead of Pense’e.

The principal  added attraction, the Equine Nutrients Million saw the B Suresh schooled youngster Kings Return produce a winning gallop in the hands of the in-form G Vivek to snuff out the challenge of the strongly backed favourite Amazing Joy (6/10) in convincing fashion. The public rage in her effort to make every post a winning one in the hands of Hindu Singh hit the front and called the shots for most part of the sprint, but the moment King’s Return posed a challenge, the public choice it appeared lost her galloping shoes and  had to rest content with the runner-up berth.

After the big loss of on-money favourite Amazing Joy, half-money favourite Gandolfini from James McKeown’s yard to the relief of the big bettors came good in the concluding event, the Amorous Knight Handicap run over a distance of nine furlongs. The winner partnered by Hindu Singh appears in good nick and is certain to add to his kitty before the curtain is brought down on what so far has been a good season from the punters point of view.

The `Knotty’ group is enjoying a fantastic lucky streak and Kamesh and his brigade led in Knotty Wonder after the owners were delighted with the winning efforts of Knotty Challenger and the best performed juvenile Knotty Legend at Bangalore. Knotty Wonder in fact was backed down from (4/1) to (9/4) and the judiciously prepared filly justified the confidence of her supporters finishing on top. Lesser fancied Supreme Grandeur finished on purposefully at end to take the second spot ahead of Spirit Of Rose, while the public choice Bertha after raising hopes at the top of the straight flopped badly and failed to even save money in place.

The Vijay Singh-trained High Tribute, Rupa schooled Western Girl and Vijaya from the stables of Deepesh Narredu were fancied most in the upper division of the Canterbury Handicap run over a sprint before High Tribute ended a firm favourite, money pouring in on the Vijay Singh ward  minutes before the start. The favourite to the delight of the followers of form produced a winning gallop in the final furlong to peg back rankoutsider Eclipse Award, while the two lesser fancied runners, Vijaya and Western Girl, who were fancied to upset the applecart of the winner were never in the hunt and finished off the frame.

The lower division of the event was claimed by the three to one shot Lady Wonder from Suresh’s yard. The winner piloted in copybook fashion by apprentice jockey Ram Nandan easily pegged back the public choice Sunny Isles, while The Sting finished a creditable third ahead of Kallania.

On the strength of his suggestive effort in his last essay, Raffinato from Fahad Khan’s yard was backed to the exclusion of his 11 rivals in the Victorious Handicap and the favourite readily produced another stellar effort to earn his cornbill. The six to one shot Queen Anula fancied in place did well to gain the runner-up berth ahead of Stolen Glance.
