It was good to see leading trainer Vijay Singh leading in two winners after quite some time. The top pro first proudly led in Vivaldi, a smart winner of the Brave Dancer Handicap and in the concluding event, the Fort St.George Handicap, the on-money favourite Straordinario proved too good for his 10 rivals, helping Vijay record a good double after a long time.

After his winning effort on the second day of the season, Vivaldi was fancied sweetly by the winning camp to record his second straight success. The vastly improved son of Roderic O'Connor confidently piloted by Hindu Singh tracked the two front runners, the lesser fancied Impiana and the favourite Golden Warrior from Deepesh Narredu's yard for most part of the mile long trip before Hindu Singh pushed the second in demand at the betting ring ahead at the top of the straight and the moment Vivaldi streaked ahead it was all over bar the shouting. Element from Sebastian's yard, who finished second behind Schnell in his last essay again gained the runner-up berth ahead of the late finishing Starkova, who appears to have improved and it will not be long before this James McKeown trainee earns her winning bracket.

After a couple of below par efforts when fancied most, Straordinario broke ice in his ninth attempt to shed his maiden status over a mile long trip, making every post a winning one. The strongly fancied winner before standing tall at the podium helped all the big bettors return home evens-stevens after a couple of top fancies had lost out in the competitive card of six events. Now that the winner has got the monkey off his back, Straordinario is certain to provide an encore. Stablemate Dramatic followed the winner home making it a good 1-2 finish for Vijay, while King's Guardian surprised most finishing third ahead of Saintly Star, who was fancied sweetly in place by the B Suresh camp, but failed to make it.

In line for a hat-trick, Aspira from Deepesh Narredu's yard gained the top billing in the Saddle Up Trophy, the plum event run over 1000 metres. But this time despite Yash gaining a favourable position early on in the race, Aspira found the going tough and only finished third behind the runner-up, Race For The Stars from Robert Foley's yard who went down fighting to the second in demand at the betting ring, Soft Whisper who beat the Robert Foley ward at the shadow of the winning post.

Another Deepesh Narredu ward which failed to justify favouritism was Bertha. Competing in the Nijinsky Handicap run over a sprint, Bertha  called the shots till the dozen contestants negotiated the final curve and packed up when the race came on a boil. At this juncture the lesser fancied Relic Warrior from the stables of Rupa partnered by Farid Ansari stole a march and looked good to score before the ten to one long shot Suryakrishi in the hands of Vikram produced a stunning gallop in the final furlong to zoom past Relic Warrior and record a shock win. The six to one shot Swarga finished on fastest at end to edge out Relic Warrior for the runner-up berth, while Multicrown completed the frame.

Lord Of The Turf from Foley's yard partnered by five-kilo claimer Bharat Mal and last start winner Cloud Jumper from the stables of Suraj Shaw were fancied most in the Supreme Choice Handicap run over a distance of seven furlongs. But the `Jodi' went out of the window, the moment the five to one shot Emperor Charmavat from Sebastian's yard powerfully piloted by Sai Kiram hit the front and put the issue beyond doubt in the final furlong. The advantageously placed in at the scales, Abilitare followed the winner home ahead of the favorite Lord Of The Turf, while the second fancy Cloud Jumper was never in the hunt.

On the strength of her suggestive last effort, third behind the winner, Authentic Bell and the runner-up Stolen Glance, Western Girl was fancied most in the opening event, the Albany Girl Handicap and the public choice justified her top billing romping home in the hands of Bharat Mal to the delight of her supporters. The topweighted Empire Of Dreams followed the Rupa ward home, while War Emblem did well to pick up big money in place.
