The two leading saddle artistes, Trevor Patel and  Antony Raj cornered glory, the former booting home the well-backed  favourite See The Light in the opening event for juveniles before making every post a winning one on the three to one shot Ascoval, a smart winner of the Bangalore Turf Club Trophy, the plum event run over a sprint. 

In the first race for juveniles this season, See The Light from Sulaiman Attaollahi's yard and Gloriousness from the stables of Satish Narredu were fancied most. The former who was a trifle nervous and was seen playing up on the way to the starting gate, jumped out well the moment the six youngsters making their debut came under the starter's flag and kept going, displaying good turn of foot to emerge a speedy winner on debut, Gloriousness, it must be mentioned, warmed up late and had to settle for the runner-up berth, while the Arvind Ganapathy schooled bred in the purple, Devate, who had impressed most in the morning trials, it was clear found the 1100M dash too sharp for her liking. 

Astride, Ascoval from Pradeep Annaiah's yard, Trevor gained the initiative the moment the small field of four runners jumped out and soon established a winning lead at the top of the straight before sprinting home nice and easy to resume his winning ways. A winner on the opening day, Yukan found Ascoval too hot to handle and followed the winner home ahead of the Arjun Mangblorkar schooled Aldgate. Now that Ascoval is back in the winners' circle, it will pay to again support the speedy customer next time out. 

Antony Raj booted home the Arjun-trained Never Give In to a convincing victory in the Smarty Jones Plate run over a sprint.  The winner garnered one-sided support in the betting ring, most followers of form listing him as a banker in the five-horse Jackpot puzzle. The top fancy readily justified his ranking and rating while justifying the confidence of his supporters, easily pegging back the challenge of the second in demand at the betting ring, Vivaldo from the stables of Prasanna Kumar. Never Give In is in good heart and is set to provide an encore. Vivaldo in  defeat was not disgraced and lives to fight another day. 

A smart last start winner at Mysore, Mayne Magic from  Kishan Thomas' yard recorded his second straight success coming out tops in the upper division of the Shivanasamudra Falls Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs. The five to one shot tracked the second in demand at the betting ring, Lockheed for most part of the journey before Antony setalight the Kishan ward at the top of the straight and Mayne Magic readily produced a sparkling gallop to romp home a deserving winner. Don Carlos piloted by Trevor looking to register a treble followed the winner home ahead of the Irfan Ghatala schooled Promiseofthefuture, who was heavily supported to land a gamble, but he lacked the ability to match strides with the first two and only finished a tame third. Lockheed, who opened favourite before money came pouring on Promiseofthefuture shot his bolt at the top of the straight and finished down the field. 

The second division of the event was claimed by the on-money favourite Queen Of Kyiv piloted by the top gun Suraj Narredu who pulled out all stops driving the public choice home. Monterio expectedly finished second ahead of Cats Whiskers who in his attempt to make every post a winning one held on to save money in place. The Narayan Gowda-trained Invincible was fancied sweetly as a good win and place bet by the insiders and right connections in the Narayan Gowda camp, but Invincible let them down badly and the flopped gamble costed his supporters dear at end. 

The third division of the event was claimed by the overwhelming favourite Power Of Beauty, who provided jockey Arvind Kumar an arm-chair ride to success donkey-licking his 11 rivals without raising a sweat. This Pradeep trainee is in good nick and it will surprise most if Power Of Beauty fails to win again in his next start. Martha who had finished behind Power Of Beauty in the opening event of the season gained the runner-up berth ahead of Lords Grace, while the hotly tipped Felisa who had her fair share of followers failed to even save money in place. 

The Sulaiman schooled El Asesino and Martino from the stables of Sriram Komandur topped the betting board in the Phar Lap Plate. Martino who at end was installed the first favourite hit the front in the hands of Antony Raj and kept going before the Neil Devaney-trained Small Dreams in the hands of Dhanu Singh surprised the two leading contenders shooting through in the final furlong to send the well fancied `Jodo' out of the window much to the disappointment of the pundits who had rated this `Jodi' safe. A winner on debut, Small Dreams appears a goodtype and it will pay to follow his progress this winter. 

The talented Ranquelino from Darius Byramji's yard proved too good in the Venugopal Naidu Memorial Trophy run over a mile. Akshay Kumar guiding the fortunes of the topweight settled the top performer nice and easy all through the backstretch before he reminded his mount the task ahead at the top; of the straight and Ranquelino responding gamely to his master's call produced a fine gallop to quickly put the race to bed in the final furlong. The lesser fancied August followed Ranquelino home ahead of the favourite Bharat who performed below par after his impressive showing in his last essay on the second day of the season.
