Astride the Sulaiman Attaollahi-trained Tehani who looked a picture of fitness at the parade ring, Akshay chose to play the waiting game realising that the filly shouldering a welterweight of 60 kilos over a nine furlongs trip needed to be nursed along nice and easy before timing his final challenge to a nicety. The top gun was in no spot of bother when the top fancy August from the stables of Arjun Manglorkar stole a march at the top of the straight knowing that his filly was raring to go and the moment he provided Tehani her head, she stormed up to zoom past August and romp home a deserving winner. Auspicious Queen, it appears is slowly regaining her form and her satisfactory effort, third behind August suggests that this Narayan Gowda trainee will earn her cornbill in the month ahead. 

Partnering the Ganapathy schooled Brave Majesty, who impressed most in his last essay, finishing a creditable third behind the winner Pharazon and the runner-up Lone Ranger, Akshay Kumar produced another stellar performance to help the Ganapathy ward come up tops, snuffing out the challenge of the favourite Asagiri from Rajesh Narredu's yard and the eight to one shot Agera from the stables of Pradeep Annaiah, who caught the eye while gaining the runner-up spot. Asagiri in the hands of the top `Knight' Suraj Narredu streaked ahead at the top of the straight before going down, lacking the gas in the tank to match strides with the first two in the final furlong.

Fancied most on the strength of his brilliant performances in the morning trials, King Of War from Lokanath Gowda's yard provided young Vivek a comfortable ride to victory. Vivek settled the well-backed even-money favourite behind the leader Own Legacy for most part of the seven furlongs trip before he assumed command at the top of the straight and powered home to the delight of his large following. Sekhmet from the stables of Kishan Thomas followed the winner home ahead of the Faraz  Arshad-trained Bruce Almighty, while Aircraft who was fancied sweetly in place by the Azhar Ali camp failed to bring home the desired result.

Spurred by the success, Vivek in the next event, the Managing Committee Trophy made every post a winning one over the nine furlongs exercise on Rock Bank to the delight of the Prasanna Kumar camp. The public choice who had failed to justify favouritism in his last start, beaten fair and square by the talented Final Call over a mile produced a vastly improved performance to outclass his arch rival Mescalito to chalk out his maiden success. Now that Rock Bank has earned his winning bracket after finishing second from both his starts this season, this Prasanna trainee appears ready and willing to provide an encore.

Despite the fact that he has a blood vessel issue and the fact that he always fails to justify the support from his connections, Chiraag surprisingly again garnered the maximum support in the Amazing Grace Stakes run over a sprint. The public choice who has made it a habit to take tons of good money down the drain again did the same, finishing second behind the lesser fancied winner Emeraldo from Pradeep Annaiah's yard who was knocking at the door following his three consistent efforts in this class this season. The Ganapathy schooled Bourbon Bay had his share of followers too, but he in his hurry to make every post a winning one, shot his bolt when the race came on a boil and finished a tame fourth behind the long shot Princess Jasmine who impressed most finishing an easy third in the hands of the four-kilo claimer Suhas. Princess Jasmine on the strength of this eye-catching effort is too good to miss out, when next saddled.

Pradeep Annaiah, earlier led in a smart winner on debut, Ice Of Fire who proved too good for his six rivals in the opening event for juveniles run over a sprint. The winner tracked the joint favourite Mutual Trust for most part of the trip before Sandesh reminded Ice On Fire of the task ahead and the goodtype of youngster displaying good turn of foot shot ahead and put the race to bed in the final furlong. The Azhar Ali schooled Agrador finished third and considering he has good scope for improvement, this Excellent Art progeny is likely to make a more favourable impression in the months ahead.

Promiseofthefuture emerged the most impressive winner of the day. The Irfan Ghatala ward who was seen finishing on fastest at end in his last essay over a distance of seven furlongs provided Suraj Narredu an arm-chair ride to success in the Valley Of Flowers Plate run over a mile, donkey-licking his seven rivals without raising a sweat. The five to one shot Continues from Warren Singh's yard, who finished second in his last effort again gained the runner-up berth and hopefully it will prove to be third time lucky for the consistent performer. Second in demand at the betting ring, Pericles from Sulaiman Attaollahi's yard who failed to justify his top billing in his last start again performed below par failing to even make the board and from this dismal effort, it is clear that Pericles is off the boil and it will do a world of good to ignore him this winter.
