Followers of form enjoyed the better of exchanges, most fancied contestants justifying the confidence of their supporters on Saturday. A facile last start winner, Mayne Magic from the stables of Kishan Thomas chalked out his third success this season powering home in the hands of leading pro Antony Raj to reign supreme in the Garden City Trophy, the plum event run over a distance of seven furlongs. Second in demand at the betting ring, Bharat streaked ahead at the top of the straight and established a good three length advantage before Antony setalight the on-money favourite and the in-form contestant displayed good turn of foot to quickly bridge the gap and zoom past the Prasanna-trained Bharat to the delight of all the big bettors. Auspicious Queen finished third ahead of Elpenor who continues to disappoint.

The Dominic schooled Phoenomenon opened the favourite in the HB Gundappa Memorial Trophy, but soon money came pouring in on the Azhar Ali schooled Tesorino, backed down from (3/1) to (2/1), while the price on Phoenomenon kept going up and up indicating that the Dominic ward piloted by Suraj Narredu was never in the hunt. Well that's exactly what happened, Phoenomenon freely offered at a shocking price of (11/2) failing to even save money in place. The well-backed Tesorino in the hands of G Vivek hit the front and soon showed a clean pair of heels to her seven rivals. NRI Ace did well at end to gain the runner-up berth ahead of Connecting Dots, while Adamas completed the frame. All credit to Azhar Ali for pulling off a successful coup on Tesorino.

Azhar later was livid with the effort of Alex Rozario on his fancied trainee Eclipse Pulse in the upper division of the Dandeli Plate run over 1100 metres. Alex after failing to gain a favourable position after the jump, made no attempt to improve the position of the public choice in this scurry and this cost him dear at the end. The blow-hot, blow-cold pilot put the leg on the pedal only after the second favourite Invincible from Narayan Gowda's yard had assumed command and even then when Eclipse Pulse bravely charged up to challenge the leader, Rozario went into the winner and before he corrected course, Invincible and Suraj made sure that they will pose for photographs in the winners' enclosure.

On the strength of his impressive third behind the winner Power Of Beauty and the runner-up Divine Art in his last race, Metzinger from Rajesh Babu's yard was the overwhelming favourite in the Bidar Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs. And the top choice in the hands of  Suraj produced a winning gallop at the all-important end to score in emphatic fashion. Second in demand at the betting ring, Blue God partnered by four-kilo claimer Aleemuddin would have gone close to the winner had his inexperienced pilot shifted out and made his final assault much earlier in the straight. Aleemuddin looking for room on the inside, lost time and when he finally decided to shift out it was a lost case, though Blue God did well to raise hopes, but the challenge came too late in the day and the Arjun ward had to rest content with the third spot behind Knotty Patton. On the strength of his eye-catching debut, second behind Mountain Jewel, Glorious Strides from Satish Narredu's yard was fancied most in the Topmost Plate for juveniles run over a mile. The public choice who had benefited most from his first career start produced a winning effort to shed his maiden status, pegging back the bold effort of the eight to one shot Refreshment from Prasanna Kumar's yard. The runner-up has improved most and it will pay to support him when next saddled.

The three to one shot Felisa from Irfan Ghatala's yard proved too good for her eight rivals in the lower division of the Dandeli Plate. Mehra from Pradeep Annaiah's yard despite making an appearance after a 40-day lay-off was strongly supported, but Mehra it was clear was not at her best and needed this run under her belt. Felisa in the hands of Rozario shot through to score in the final furlong not before cutting across sharply in front of the runner-up Domina from the stables of Inayathullah. Jockey jagadeesh rider of the runner-up rightly lodged a protest contending that the winner had cut across badly when his mount was full of running and he also lost balance. After disqualifying Oxytocin for a similar offence a day earlier, punters expected the stipes and stewards to uphold this valid protest, but this time out the five wise men in the board room decided to overrule the protest pointing out that Jagadeesh before the infringement had struck Rozario thrice with his whip.
