It proved to be a good day under the cool September sun for the railbirds. Form played true and five firm favourites and a solitary second choice True Punch, justified their rankings and ratings to the delight of the followers of form, who returned home, enjoying the better of exchanges with a definite spring in their stride. Leading pro Antony Raj, who booted home five winners in the opening week of the season added two more to his kitty, guiding home the half-money favourite Power Of Beauty and True Punch. The former competing in the upper division of the MS Suresh Memorial Trophy was touted a `moral certainty' and the public rage expectedly detonated her seven rivals including the second choice Eternal Glory, who jumped out and swerved to the left and with that lost all her chances of making an impression on Power Of Beauty, who emerged the best winner in the seven-event card. The Lokanath-trained Eternal Glory, nevertheless did make up ground and finished second ahead of Ladylion and it will not be long before she earns a winning bracket.

The Bobby schooled Klimt was strongly fancied to score in the upper division run over a distance of seven furlongs, but the six-year-old mare piloted by Dhanu Singh found the second in demand at the betting ring True Punch too hot to handle and had to rest content with the runner-up berth. Sapient from Jaishanker Pillay's yard did well to finish third ahead of the Sriram Komandur-trained Il Volo who will make his presence felt over a sprint trip.

Magnetic was another short-priced on-money favourite, who proved too good in the Dennis & Yvonne Jarvis Memorial Cup run over a mile. The public rage partnered by leading pro Trevor Patel, fresh from his success in the Colts Championship Stakes at Malakpet (Hyderabad) on Monday, travelled nice and easy all through the backstretch before powering home to the delight of her trainer Darius Byramji. The winner appears in good nick and it will pay to support Magnetic again when saddled next. The topweighted Kanya Rashi from the stables of Vinesh Naik, who was tipped to run Magnetic close tracked the winner all through the mile long journey, but the moment Magnetic pressed on the pedal it was all over bar the shouting. Kanya Rashi hung on to finish second ahead of Confident Game, who was fancied most in place.

The upper division of the Regency Gold Plate run over a sprint, on paper was a straight fight between the speedy Ziva from Lokanath's yard and the impressive winner on debut, Moana under the care of Michael Eshwer. The former in the whipless sprint, in the hands of five-kilo claimer Suhas, hit the front soon after the dozen runners came under the starter's flag and never let the initiative slip gallantly pegging back the bold effort of the long shot Mark One. Moana, who had a good share of her followers lacked the initial speed to pose a threat and eventually finished a tame third ahead of Able One.

The lower division of the event was claimed by another hotly fancied winner Noble Cause from the stables of Dominic. The winner confidently piloted by Alex Rozario jumped out smartly from the wide outside draw (11) and gained a favourable position early on in the race before Rozario riding hands and heels assumed command at the distance post and quickly put the issue beyond doubt in the final furlong. Chisox from Pradeep Annaiah's yard followed the winner home and is one for the notebook.

The topweighted Just Blues from Surender's yard, who had caught the eye in the morning trials reigned supreme in the opening event, the Shivakashi Plate run over a distance of six furlongs. The on-money favourite partnered by Arvind Kumar made every post a winning one snuffing out the challenge of rank outsider Eye The Mind and the lesser fancied Fashionista.

In the concluding event, the Talakadu Plate, Money Exchange, another strongly fancied contestant from Surender's yard was backed down to (70/100) from (7/4), but the money exchange didn't happen as planned and at the end all money went down the drain, the piping hot favourite failing to make a race of it. The six to one shot Cloudy Hills from the stables of Bobby, brilliantly piloted by Mukesh Kumar produced an astounding gallop in the final furlong to romp home a deserving winner. One Diamond followed the winner home ahead of Sarvottam, who now looks fit and well to earn his cornbill in the weeks ahead.
