The two Bangalore pros, trainer Arjun Manglorkar and leading jockey Antony Raj, who is in red hot form, stole the limelight, the former leading in the favourite Never Give In  and the second in demand at the betting ring, Disciple, both partnered by Antony, while the top gun added one more to his list, booting home the lesser fancied Blue Picasso from the stables of another Bangalore trainer Darius Byramji. Pitted against the in-form Crown Drive and the talented Glorious King in the Stewards Cup, the plum event run over a sprint, Never Give In  garnered the maximum support and the public choice brilliantly piloted by Antony Raj produced a winning gallop at the all-important end to peg back Crown Drive and the Mysore raider Decacorn, while Glorious King performed a tad below par, only managing to complete the frame.

Spurred by the success in the plum, Antony astride Blue Picasso produced an exemplary effort in the Topmost Handicap run over a mile. The star performer chose to track the public rage Legacy piloted by Yash Narredu all through the backstretch in the mile long journey before he packed punch at the top of the straight and a furlong from home gained the advantage before powering home in emphatic fashion. Yash Narredu, who chose to make every post a winning one on the short-priced half-money favourite, it was clear was outwitted by Antony, the frontline pro judging the pace to a nicety. Balgownie from the stables of Sebastian did well to save money in place.

In line for a hat-trick, Antony astride the Arjun schooled Disciple took no chances, jumping out well and taking a box seat in the concluding event, the Prince Royal Handicap run over a distance of seven furlongs The second in demand at the betting ring , followed the leader Cloud Jumper before assuming command at the top of the straight and quickly putting the issue beyond doubt in the final furlong. The ten to one long shot Vishwas gained the runner-up berth ahead of the even-money favourite Romping Home who found the going tough, surprisingly choosing to play a waiting game after winning her last two starts from end to end.

Earlier, trainer Zulqarnain pulled off a successful coup in the Kranchi Plate, Shibra from his yard outclassing her 11 rivals without really raising a sweat. The winner confidently piloted by Ashhad Asbar produced an astounding gallop at the top of the straight to storm ahead and before the others started to change gears the bird was in topflight and it was all over bar the shouting. The strongly supported Black Diamond from Deepesh Narredu's yard partnered by Yash finished second ahead of Elsa, while Star Power completed the frame. It was day the Narredu brothers, Deepesh and Yash would like to quickly forget, considering the fact that all the three overwhelming favourites from their stables lost and this costed the followers of form dear.

The Suresh schooled Saintly Star stunned the followers of form in the Commanche Handicap, upsetting the applecart of the well-backed favourite Aviothic from Sebastian's yard. The winner booted home by Koshi Kumar paid a rich dividend of Rs 401 on a tenner at the tote window. Avantador from Mandanna's yard was another rank outsider who cashed in finishing third ahead ahead of Royal Supremacy.

In the opening event, the Midnight Cowboy Handicap, Black Floral gained the top billing, but the Suresh ward met a tartar in Saint Emilion from the stables of Suraj Shaw, who shocked the public choice much to the disappointment of the followers of form. The Rupa-trained Western Girl surprised most finishing third ahead of Star Aristocracy, who was strongly fancied in place, but missed the bus, Western Girl finishing half-length ahead of the Robert Foley ward.
