Guess, who was most pleased after Ravishing Beauty reigned supreme in the Mysore 1000 Guineas. Well the right answer is: her owner K Kaliyaperumal. The man who made a stylish entry into the game six summers ago (2019) picking up a couple of horses, to his credit now owns 30 bred in the purple horses and after the success of Ravishing Beauty, is in line for a classic double, Money Bags fancied to emerge the champion colt on Friday.

First classic success in my colours, it was a dream come true revealed Kaliyaperumal. One of the most sought after owners in the South, who now has a couple of good youngsters with Pradeep Chouhan in Mumbai, Perumal disclosed that the moment Ravishing Beauty flashed past the post first he was on top of the moon and it is needless to mention that the sporting owner will cherish the moment. "Despite the fact that my filly was making a comeback after a seven-month long lay-off in a highly competitive classic event, Prasanna and Antony Raj were confident that she will test the best and she went one better winning the big test," said Perumal lauding the effort of his favourite trainer and the jockey who has made winning a habit at Mysore this season.

Kaliyaperumal disclosed that his first entry into a race course was in 1996, walking into the Mahalaxmi race course in Mumbai on Indian Derby day with the Lord And Master of Indian racing, Dr.MAM Ramaswamy. "First step proved to be a giant stride. Amazing Bay won the blue riband in a pulse-pounding finish and it was MAM's maiden Indian Derby success and I was happy that the Boss had conquered the elusive bastion in my presence," said Perumal adding that he loved what he saw on that day and soon developed a liking for the sport. The Chennai-based businessman first became a owner in his home town before he slowly, yet surely made his presence felt in the other premier racing centres. Shamrock in partnership with a couple of good friends put me on the high road and Ravishing Beauty provided the icing on the cake," said Perumal pointing out that Money Bags is in with a good chance in the 2000 Guineas. 

I planned to travel to Mysore for the 1000 Guineas, but unfortunately missed the bus. This Friday my ticket is confirmed and hopefully Money Bags will win the big-ticket event," said Perumal. 

"Last year I bought six two-year-olds from the Poonawalla and Kunigal Stud Farms and my trainers are happy with the stock. This year again I plan to purchase an equal number, starting from the auction sales at Kunigal on Oct 14," said Perumal, who now is in the classic circle.
