It proved to be a red-letter day for top trainer Suliman Attaollahi. The unassuming pro led in four winners including the lesser fancied Valiant Stream, the winner of the Bengaluru City Police Cup and the strongly fancied winner Lux Aeterna, who emerged the most impressive winner of the day. Advantageously placed in at the scales Efficacy too made his master proud coming up tops in the Gomos Plate and Xanthe after going down to the public rage Eagle Eye in the upper division of the Jog Falls Plate reversed the verdict in the Stewards room.

Leading saddle artiste Sandesh guiding the fortunes of Xanthe after finishing second behind the top fancy Eagle Eye from trainer Prasanna Kumar's yard lodged an objection against Alex Rozario, the rider of the half-money favourite for bumping and taking his ground in the straight. In addition Sandesh also stated in his protest that Alex Rozario had whipped his horse (Xanthe) on his face, which was not true. From the many replays played out on the TV screen, it was observed and it was clear that Rozario had not whipped Xanthe on her face at any stage of the race. Sadly the senior stipe nor the stewards present in the board room questioned the pro on the misleading evidence he had attached to make his case stronger and hoodwink the men debating the case. The fact that the individual protesting had offered false information was enough to throw out the protest. But that didn't happen. While Sandesh got away scot-free, the stipes and stewards questioned Rozario for coming in and bumping Xanthe and taking the ground of the runner-up. The winning jockey's  explanation that his mount shifted in a trifle when he cracked the whip, but he quickly corrected the drift and won easily at the end, failed to impress the decision makers. They chose to uphold the protest on the ground that the winner had alarmingly shifted in resulting in a chain reaction which saw the third-placed runner Glorious Strides also suffering from interference. Most railbirds and more importantly a majority of the knowledgeable were of the view that the decision of the stipes and stewards was just not right, taking the race away from the winner, who was clearly travelling the better of the two. A minimum of two-day suspension for Rozario for dangerous riding and no change in the result would have been the right decision, but taking the race away from the winner and gifting it to the runner-up, who clearly was a beaten horse in the final 100 metres defied logic.
 
After Xanthe's lucky and debatable success, Sulaiman led in Lux Aeterna, a smart winner of the Udupi Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs. The public choice in the hands of Sandesh, who combined effectively with Sulaiman to record a treble, made every post a winning one while donkey-licking her nine rivals and on the strength of this heartwarming performance is set to provide an encore. Stablemate Aquastic piloted by Chinoy finished on purposefully at end to gain the runner-up berth ahead of the topweighted Arjun Manglorkar trainee Disciple, while the second in demand at the betting ring, Connecting Dots from the stables of Faraz Arshad who had his fair share of followers, after being favourably placed early on in the race burst his blood vessels and quickly packed up. 

In line for a treble, Sandesh pushed the seven to one shot Valiant Stream to the front, soon after the field of 10 runners came under the starter's flag for the Bengaluru City Police Cup run  over a distance of seven furlongs and never let the initiative slip romping home a deserving winner of the feature event. The strongly fancied Agrador from the stables of Darius Byramji partnered by Alex Rozario did produce his best but found the winner too hot to handle at end and had to rest content with the runner-up berth. Considering the fact that the smart winner looked a trifle gross and heavy in the paddock and yet waltzed to victory in emphatic fashion only suggests that Valiant Stream is a goodtype and it will pay to support him again when next saddled. 

The alarming rise in price offered at the bookmakers ring on the Sulaiman schooled Efficacy in the Gomos Plate saw a good percentage of Efficacy supporters jump into the boat of Inspire, while the Irfan Ghatala-trained Victoria Doresaani piloted by Rozario too was quietly and sweetly fancied by the right connections. It was just not Rozario's day after he lost a race which he had won in the stewards room and all that Victoria Doresaani did was finish third behind the winner Efficacy confidently piloted by Shreyas Singh and Inspire, who flashed late on the scene to gain the runner-up berth. This was Sulaiman's fourth winner of the day and all credit to the leading trainer who again has started with a bang after enjoying a good summer. 

The Pradeep Annaiah camp pulled off a good gamble on Mister Brown in the concluding event, the Malaprabha Plate run over a sprint. The winner making an appearance after a nine-month lay-off, to the delight of the Pradeep camp, who had judiciously prepared him, outclassed his 10 rivals by more than five lengths and on the strength of this victory will be hard to down again next time out taking into account that this run after the long lay-off will only benefit him in his exercise to stand tall at the podium when next saddled. The Darius Byramji schooled Dictator followed the winner home and it will not be long before he goes one up and earns his winning bracket this season. Glorious Spectre did well to finish third ahead of Road Runner who in his attempt to make every post a winning one went out of gas in the final furlong. 

The 15 to one long shot Ziva shocked the followers of form producing a winning gallop in the hands of five-kilo claimer Suhas to come up trumps in the Hanumantharaj Memorial Trophy run over a sprint. The speedy See The Light, another from Sulaiman's yard partnered by Sandesh hit the front and called the shots for most part of the trip before Ziva stormed up to snuff out the challenge of the leader close home. The even-money favourite Pole Star from Prasanna Kumar's yard made a belated charge and was only rewarded with the runner-up berth, while stablemate Thessalian completed the frame without being unduly extended in the race. 

After missing out on a couple of occasions to come good when hotly fancied in the summer season, True Gold from MR Singh's yard finally earned his corn bill coming up tops in the World Cancer Awareness Day Plate run over a distance of six furlongs. The winner despite shifting out at the all-important end managed to peg back Estafania, while NRI Gold saved money in place. The favourite Legendary Impact from Lokanath's yard performed below par and much to the chagrin of her supporters finished down the field. 

The hotly tipped Rosaline from Arjun Manglorkar's yard started the day on a winning note for the punters, winning the lower division of the Jog Falls Plate before the controversial result in the stewards room following an objection in the upper division. The winner appears in good nick and she will add to her kitty in the weeks ahead. Adelanto who finished behind the winner has improved and is one for the notebook.
