On a day only a solitary favourite Rieko justified his ranking, while the rest of the half-dozen public choices failed in their mission to safely carry the public purse, champion trainer Prasanna Kumar recorded a treble, the money-back favourite Imperador, rankoutsider Refreshment and the lesser fancied four to one shot Sassy Sarah bolting in to the delight of the Prasanna camp.

After Knotty Cruise from his yard went down fighting to the well-backed Exceed in the lower division of the Shivanasamudra Plate, Prasanna opened his account through the piping hot favourite Imperador in the next event, the Phar Lap Plate run over 1100M dash. Top saddle artiste Suraj Narredu pushed the strongly built gelding to the front soon after the eight runners came under the starter's flag and Imperador showing a clean pair of heels cantered home ahead of the runner-up Aphelion from Pradeep's yard, who was seen finishing on fastest at end and it will not belong before he sheds his maiden status. Next Refreshment partnered by the talented Mukesh Kumar fom the Charminar city shocked the followers of form, producing an astounding gallop in the final furlong to upset the applecart of the stablemate Alfonshine, who looked set to justify favouritism in th YS Surender Memorial Trophy run over a mile before Mukesh packed power on the neglected colt, who stormed up to spoil the party.  The topweighted Sicyon from Sulaiman Attaollahi's yard was also strongly supported from (3/1) to (2/1), but he failed in his mission to make light of the back-breaking 60.5 kilos he was asked to shoulder and finished a game third behind the runner-up Alfonsine. The Darius Byramji schooled Live The Dream in this event dropped her rider Abishek Matre, while Alamgir. fancied sweetly in place lost out, only managing to complete the frame. 

In line for a treble in the concluding event, the upper division of the Shivanasamudra Falls Plate, Sassy Sarah piloted by the promising apprentice N Darshan displayed good turn of foot to zip past the second in demand at the betting ring, Contessina from Satish Narredu's yard and romp home an emphatic winner under a sharp shower which the sassy lass appeared to relish. Stalingrad from Irfan Ghatala's yard was fancied most on the strength of his impressive efforts in the morning trials, but the top fancy failed to match stride with the first two and finished a tame third much to the chagrin of the favourite punters. 

On form, Magileto looked best among the seven runners in the fray for the Bangalore Turf Club Trophy run over a sprint and the Aman Hussain-trained speedy customer confirmed that in style, making every post a winning one in the hands of top gun Trevor Patel. Siege Courageous on his successful Pune stint also had his fair share of followers, but the Prasanna ward found the winner too hot to handle and had to settle for the runner-up berth. Stablemate Knotty Charmer finished third ahead of the Arjun Manglorkar schooled Aldgate, who impressed most finishing on purposefully at end to run Knotty Charmer close. 

A good sprinter at this campus, Rieko chalked out his second straight success this season, making every post a winning one in the Smarty Jones Plate run over a sprint. Suraj again took this Pradeep Annaiah trainee to the front and he sprinted in style putting the race to bed with a furlong to go. Rieko is in fine form and he is hotly tipped to complete a hat-trick of wins when saddled next over an identical trip. Del Aviz in the hands of Antony Raj finished second ahead of the second favourite Regal Reality, while Invincible did well to make the board.

The Darius Byramji Byramji schooled Amalure was fancied most on the strength of her fine showing on the opening day, second behind Sapporo in her debut. The fact that she was not fancied and yet finished a impressive second without unduly being extended provided the much needed confidence to the followers of form, who trusted the filly to score against the topweighted Exceed piloted by J Chinoy. While Amalure proved no match to the first two, Exceed and Knotty Affair, Chinoy really needed to drive out the heavily backed joint favourite to gain the verdict at the shadow of the winning post. Exceed was backed down from (11/4) to (18/10), while Amalure after starting favourite at (13/10) also closed at (18/10). Husunara, NRI Millennium and Big Sauce, the rider Pavan unable to make weight were withdrawn before the start. 

In the first event for juveniles, the Beginners Plate, the Kunigal bred, Quantum from Michael Eshwer's yard proved too good for her five rivals winning her first start by a widening margin of nine lengths from Monumental. The winner appears a good type of a sprinter and her progress this season is certain to evoke interest. The Satish Narredu-trained Global Dominance, another from the famed stud farm tracked the winner for most part of the journey without hope before finishing third behind his stablemate Monumental, another youngster from Kunigal.
