It is no secret that champion trainer Prasanna Kumar has explosive ammunition in his yard. On Sunday he successfully tested a couple of missiles aimed for the big classic battles next month. The result was satisfying and more importantly the message sent out to the opposition was scary. The twin strikes only confirmed that Prasanna has the required gun powder to pull the plug and fuse out his rivals in the classic tests ahead. The unassuming pro understands that the work is only half done and he and his classic hopefuls need to continue doing all things right in the effort to accomplish the classic mission in the months ahead. 

Smashing debutant, Iron Mirage provided the champion a big reason to smile, winning the War Hammer Million in resplendent style. It's no-brainer that Prasanna would enter one of the best under his care in his effort to win the event named after a true-blue champion, who put Prasanna in the Hall Of Fame. The top trainer did just that and the highly talented Iron Mirage made his master proud, making every post a winning one in the seven furlongs exercise, which at end proved to be a canter for the impressive son of Dreamfield. The fact that the Sulaiman Attaollahi schooled Moonveil, an impressive winner on debut, sent out spot on, found Iron Mirage too hot to handle only confirms that Iron Mirage will be one of the frontliners for the Colts Championship. 

Next it was Starzella, a filly he has targeted for the opening classic, the Fillies Championship Stakes. Starzella in her first start in winter finished a game second behind Moonveil. The two will again lock horns in the Fillies and this could be a fascinating contest considering the fact that Starzella has improved most. A couple of Mumbai hopefuls, Poonawalla Multi-Million winner Margaretta, who is likely to compete in the Fillies and the highly rated colt Jaandaar from the stables of Pesi Shroff and another in the classic mould, Buckingham from the stables of Karthik Ganapathy, down here to test the best in the Colts classic will provide the competitive edge to the two classic events before the blue riband, the Zavaray  Poonawalla Summer Derby scheduled to be held on, Sunday, July 12. 

Starzella, competing in the Track Lightning Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs had no opposition worthy of mention and her maiden campaign this season proved to be a walk in the park for the Prasanna Kumar trainee. The classy filly, like her stablemate Iron Mirage made every post a winning one without Trevor needing to move a muscle all through her preparatory journey. Stablemate Legacy Field, who impressed most while finishing second behind Deep Respect, who finished third in the War Hammer Million, more than eight lengths behind the winner, again gained the runner-up berth ahead of the Satish Narredu schooled Cantarina. 

Sulaiman led in Regal Reality, who made a impressive winning comeback after a couple of disappointing efforts in winter and Elysium. a run-away winner of the Racing Patrons Trophy. The public rage Regal Reality on sheer class was head and shoulders above her five rivals in the Aihole Plate and the fact that she was campaigned over a six furlongs trip which is a trifle sharp and really doesn't suit her style didn't bother her one bit, the talented five-year-old mare powering home while sending out a strong message that all is well with her and that she is in good shape to add a couple of more wins this summer season. 

Like Regal Reality, Elysium too was pitted against moderate rivals, who lacked the talent and skills to test the Sulaiman ward, who had finished behind Ice Of Fire in the 1000 Guineas. The winner in the hands of leading pro Akshay Kumar who recorded a treble produced a top draw effort, putting the race to bed 300 metres from home. Elysium, it is needless to mention is on top of her game and should be supported again next time out. Last start winner Hazel followed the winner home ahead of Silicon Star, who is certain to improve after this exercise. 

Knotty Cruise in the hands of Antony Raj proved too good in the Sweet Memories Plate.The Prasanna ward despite looking really gross at the paddock sprinted from end to end to romp home a smart winner ahead of rank outsider Turf Paradise and another long shot Absolute Katrina. Tiger Bay, strongly fancied stablemate of Knotty Cruise struggled all through the seven furlongs journey and eventually finished in the ruck and so did the James McKeown schooled Dream Walkin, who was sweetly fancied by the right connections, second in demand at the betting ring behind Tiger Bay. Dream Walkin' to say the truth was only walking in his belated debut and it's best to ignore this James ward before he starts to run in the months ahead.  

The Lokanath camp fancied Breeze Bluster strongly in the opening event and the favourite readily justified the confidence of his supporters, chalking out a deserving start-to-finish victory in the hands of Vaibhav. Stablemate Embosom followed Breeze Bluster home ahead of Sling Shot, while Double Scotch from Shoban Babu's yard completed the frame.
