Champion trainer Prasanna Kumar maintained his winning streak, leading in three winners including the strongly fancied Money Bags, the winner of the plum event on Saturday. 

The top pro opened his account through Knotty Emperor, fancied strongly by the `Knotty' camp. Competing in the Elite Force Plate for maiden three-year-olds, run over a distance of seven furlongs, Knotty Emperor making his debut, pulled the plug and fused out his eight rivals without really extending himself. The debutant in the hands of leading `Knight'  Vivek unleashed good turn of foot approaching the distance post to romp home in style, while sending out a message that he has the potential to match strides with the best. To the credit of the `Knotty' group it must be mentioned that they have been very lucky picking up quality progenies of Gusto, Knotty Legend, Knotty Charmer to name a few, who graduated to the classic circle after starting their careers on a winning note. 

MN Nambiar immensely pleased with the smashing debut of Knotty Emperor disclosed that the group led by K Kamesh has been lucky. "Luck apart, our trainer Prasanna Kumar has helped pick some of the best horses from the Bishan stud and we are enjoying our stint, happy with the results obtained," said Nambiar. 

"Knotty Legend was the best the syndicate owned, but it was very unfortunate that he broke down after winning the South India Derby at Chennai. Now we have Knotty Emperor, who has started well and hopefully he will make his presence felt in the big tests ahead," said Kamesh. 

After the success of Knotty Emperor, public rage Refined Aggression from the Prasanna camp failed to justify his top billing in the Maralingaiah Memorial Trophy finishing a poor fourth much to the shock of the pundits and disappointment of the railbirds, who considered him a cinch in the six furlongs event. The well bred colt, who had donkey-licked his rivals without raising a sweat in his last essay, shockingly at no stage of the race looked capable of repeating his success and eventually only managed to gain the last place in the frame. The Sulaiman Attaollahi schooled See The Light in her attempt to make every post a winning one failed in the final few strides to peg back the stablemate Splendid Dream who in the hands of the in-form Akshay Kumar rallied well to snatch the verdict at the shadow of the winning post. 

Money Bags despite his run-away victory in his last essay surprisingly opened even-money favourite to the delight of the followers of form and all the big bettors quickly went bang-bang in the ring resulting in the prime favourite closing (65/100). Antony Raj, who replaced the injured Trevor Patel, pushed the piping hot favourite to the front soon after the field of six runners came under the starter's flag for the seven furlongs trip and the public choice just stayed there, his rivals including the second in demand at the betting ring Efficacy posing no threat to the Prasanna ward, who romped home in style and is set to complete a hat-trick of wins, when next saddled. Efficacy expectedly followed the smart winner home ahead of Rodney. 

In line for a treble, Prasanna sent out last start winner Prince Of Wales in fine condition and the vastly improved performer partnered by Antony Raj produced a winning gallop at the all-important end to whizz past the lesser fancied Alamgir and power home a deserving winner. Another lesser fancied contestant Lena, who had failed to justify favouritism in her last essay `nosed' out the strongly fancied favourite Bullet Proof to save money, in place. The overwhelming favourite was another Trevor mount, piloted by Sandesh after the top pro had a fall in the paddock after getting a leg-up on the hotly fancied Perfect Dream, backed down from (11/4) to (90/100) in the opening event, but to the disappointment of the large following the `Dream' was shattered by the Irfan Ghatala schooled A Great Buzz piloted by Pavan who is enjoying a good run this season. Trevor, it is learnt has dislocated his elbow and will be out of action for over five weeks. 

Smart winner of the Mysore Derby, the classy Miracle Star from the stables of James McKeown proved too good for her four rivals in the Chettinad Stud Plate cruising home without really extending herself in the hands of top gun Suraj Narredu. 

Suraj later recorded a double booting home the public choice Stravinsky to a popular victory in the concluding event, the Prince Khartoum Plate run over a sprint. The winner looked a picture of fitness at the parade ring and readily justified the confidence of his supporters, producing a sparkling gallop at the top of the straight to seize the initiative and sprint home a convincing winner. Corinthian gained the runner-up berth ahead of Wind Cleaver who edged out the speedy Aravind Ganapathy ward Flash at the post.
