Smarting in defeat at the hands of Reiko in his last start, the Pradeep Chouhan schooled Dream Seller powerfully piloted by leading `Knight' Trevor Patel settled the score, convincingly beating the speedy John ward in the Soli Merwan Cama Music And Production Bangalore City Sprint Championship Gold Cup. The winner garnered the maximum support in the top event sponsored by the sporting sports promoter Soli Merwan Cama and this in fact was the third event the flamboyant Soli has sponsored this summer season and all the three races produced popular winners to the delight of the railbirds. 

"I love horses and I was keen to support and promote the sport. And when the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) offered me a `Million' to sponsor, I added two more events and I'm satisfied with the result," said Soli adding that the idea was to provide a silver lining and my team did well to generate big buzz. "Two top of the line sprinters crossed swords in the premier event and they produced their best in the big combat for the big prize," said Soli Merwan Cama declaring that he is willing to sponsor bigger events, Derby in particular in the months ahead at other premier racing centres. 

"I'm ready and willing to sponsor and promote the big-ticket events, be it at Bangalore, Mysore and Mumbai," said the director of the SM Cama Music And Production, while revealing that he will pick up a few bred in the purple horses from the top Indian stud farms to make a mark as a owner in the game after successfully accomplishing the mission as a leading promoter.

Dream Seller apart, Born To Rise from trainer Satish Narredu's yard and the John schooled Frederika stole the limelight on a day the punters lost out at the start but did well to recoup their losses before returning home evens-stevens. 

Competing in the Red Divine Plate run over a distance of 1100 metres, Born To Rise provided his pilot Suraj Narredu an arm-chair ride to success, showing a clean pair of heels to his nine rivals, while justifying the confidence of his supporters, who chose to place big wagers on the winner despite the fact that the Satish Narredu trainee was back after being castrated in the first week of June. The sublime effort confirms that Born To Rise is a goodtype of youngster and his progress in the forthcoming Mysore season is certain to evoke interest. The Lokanath-trained Garzian, who had finished second thrice from as many start this season again found one better, while the speedy Burevestnik campaigned for the sixth time this season lost many lengths at the start to the disappointment of his connections, who hope against hope, it appears took one last chance before the summer curtain is brought down next week.

After his smart victory on the opening day, the talented Frederika suffered a minor setback in training before the John ward recovered and produced a satisfactory effort in a mock race last week. The owner Arun Kumar, who to his credit has led in more than 10 winners this season and John were very bullish of Frederika's chances in the concluding event, the Xisca Plate run over a distance of 1500 metres. Frederika was considered a cinch by the duo and the talented contestant hammered down from (3/1) to (6/4) made every post a winning one in the safe hands of Akshay Kumar. The winner, it must be mentioned is on top of his game and is set to complete a hat-trick of wins, when next saddled. Second in demand at the betting ring, Shutterfly from Sulaiman Attaollahi's yard found the going tough against the effortless winner and only managed to save money in place, finishing third behind the runner-up Imperador.

On the strength of his game second behind Doncaster Belle, last week, the Pradeep Annaiah schooled Rocking Star was backed to the exclusion of his nine rivals in the lower division of the Camineto Plate run over a sprint and to the disappointment of the Pradeep camp, Rocking Star again met a tartar in Character, who stylishly made every post a winning one in the hands of Rafique. All credit to Warren Singh for pulling off a successful gamble on Character. The wily old fox was in no fear, about his ward making his maiden appearance this season, nor did he harbour any doubt on the ability of Rafique. The veteran trainer simply trusted Character and Rafique to do the job and they did it in style. 

The upper division of the event produced a shock winner, Agera from Pradeep's yard charging down to snuff out the challenge of the lesser fancied Hushed, who looked set to score before Alex Rozario brought Agera into contention in the final furlong and the long shot covered good ground to stride home in emphatic fashion. The Umar Shariff-trained Aatherv was strongly fancied on the strength of his suggestive last effort, but the overwhelming favourite after seizing the initiative at the top of the straight sadly went out of gas in the final furlong and failed to even save money in place.

The Praveen Jesu-trained Bezawada Baasha and Blue Saint from the stables of Azhar Ali were the two other winners in the seven-event card. The former shocked the followers of form, bolting in to stand tall at the podium after his winning exercise in the Honey Day Plate and Blue Saint piloted by Vivek reigned supreme in the opener, pegging back Magna Carta with a measure of comfort.
