Although facing a tough set of local opponents, the grey mare Winfield made her handicap count,  demolishing the eleven-horse field competing for the Mahbubabad Plate. Trainer Darius Byramji thus signed off his Hyderabad trip on a winning note. Neeraj Rawal kept Winfield within striking range of leaders Dapper Look, Lucky Zone, and Shadow Of The Moon and launched his assault as they took the final turn. Leaving nothing to chance, Neeraj eased Winfield (Dreamfield – Lady of Fame) into the lead immediately on entering the home stretch and had the race sewn up a long way from home, leaving her rivals fighting for the crumbs. NRI Triple Power stayed in second, a short head in front of Andre while Corte Madera and Silver Act followed close behind.       
 
Backed to the exclusion of her rivals in the A. Krishnaswamy Memorial Trophy (Div-II), Perfect Attitude outclassed her opposition over the six-furlong sprint. Although conceding weight to the other contestants, Perfect Attitude (Speaking of Which – Great Attitude) brooked no opposition once she tackled Best Buddy at the two-furlong marker. Home Run finished runner-up after a futile attempt to catch the winner. Arion One was third while Federer ran a distant fourth.
 
The start to the day’s proceedings was exactly what the punters had expected as the Akshay Kumar-ridden hot favourite Tootsie Darling failed to fire. Next in demand behind the favourite, Magan Singh Parmar-schooled State Man went on a start-to-finish mission for the A. Krishnaswamy Memorial Trophy (Div-III) and was never headed at any stage of the six-furlong journey. DS Deora-piloted State Man (Dali – Annie Oakley) stretched out well in the straight to extend his lead and scored a decisive victory over Vital Sign while Shadow Fax ran third ahead of Dyanoosh. LVR Deshmukh-groomed Tootsie Darling cut a sorry figure, running hopelessly throughout and plodding home in fifth.
 
It was a double whammy for bettors as Akshay failed to live up to the bettors’ expectations atop Modin, another favourite hailing from Deshmukh’s yards. Donald Netto-schooled She’s A Bomb raced well up with the leader Goddess of Light until entering the straight where K. Mukesh Kumar released the brakes on the filly. She’s A Bomb (Knotty Ash – Hit It A Bomb) then stepped up her pace and drew away for an emphatic win over Modin, who ran almost a distance behind in second place while Vinfast laboured hard to be third ahead of Gacchanmanasvin.
 
The two divisions of the Fateh Maidan Club Trophy were tailor-made for the equines groomed by Raza Shehzad and MF Ali Khan, or so it seemed. The two trainers saddled a winner each and it goes without saying that both the winners, Lazarus and Tiger Ruby, were well backed in the betting ring. Kept mostly under wraps after arriving from Western India a year ago, Lazarus was tuned to the moment for the big show by Shehzad and the bay gelding did not let him down. With Antony to guide his fortunes on this occasion, Lazarus stayed on the haunches of leader Great Giver until alerted to his task on entering the straight. Lazarus (Admiralty – Maisha), carrying an imposing 62kg on his back, took over the lead effortlessly and was home and dry by the time runner-up Dino could make his presence felt. Bold Beauty took the third spot while Sunny Day ran fourth.
 
Unlike Lazarus, Tiger Ruby had to sweat hard to bring home the bacon for her connections. First Lady sprinted ahead to show the way to the field and was followed by Dhanadeepa and Sargent while Surya Prakash-partnered Tiger Ruby was settled in fourth. When the field was homeward bound, First Lady had a useful lead and was being hailed as a winner as Tiger Ruby had a lot of ground to cover. However, Tiger Ruby (Phoenix Tiger – Rubyanne) made a valiant attempt under the whip and found the acceleration just in time to pip the leader on the post. Sadiya ran way behind in third, a length in front of Dhanadeepa.
 
Akshay finally recorded his solitary winner of the day when he steered the even-money favourite to victory in the A. Krishnaswamy Memorial Trophy (Div-I). Normui set the early pace over the sprint and had Mystical Dawn and Pacific Heights in pursuit. Although he lacked initial speed, A. Imran Khan-saddled Daring Spirit improved steadily and unleashed a spirited run down the straight. Turiya, meanwhile, tackled Mystical Dawn and assumed command, however, the vigorous effort from Akshay saw Daring Spirit (Gusto – Outrageous) surge ahead to swoop down the leader for an authoritative win. Turiya ended up second while Mystical Dawn finished third ahead of Petra Act.
 
Trainer Jasbir Singh also saddled his first winner of the season through December Caspian, who tasted her maiden success in the last race. Although unfavourably placed and racing in the rear in the early stages of the race as Iconic Star led the field, December Caspian made good progress with every stride to be in contention in the straight. Mohit Singh-ridden December Caspian (Saamidd – Ruthba) came with a flourishing late run to overtake Quality Warrior in the last furlong and kicked on gamely to keep Secret Option at bay. Beech Wood finished in the money ahead of favourite American Gangster.
