Punters enjoyed a fine run under the hot and humid sun. Followers of form dominated the exchanges in the bookmakers' ring, six well supported top fancies justifying their top ranking and at the end a majority of railbirds returned home with many green sacks full.
In line for a hat-trick after winning his last two starts in the Bangalore summer season, the in-form Frederika from John's yard made every post a winning one in the Gool & Soli Poonawalla Memorial Trophy run over a mile. Top saddle artiste Akshay Kumar pushed the winner to the front soon after the six runners came under the starter's flag and never let the initiative slip to the delight of the John camp. Lesser fancied contestant Maana partnered by Trevor Patel posed a threat a furlong from home, but  Akshay had enough in reserve to peg back the challenge and complete a hat-trick of wins.

The five to one shot Gold Ride from the stables of Ramanathan strongly piloted by N Darshan came up tops in the SM Cama Music And Production Million run over a sprint. The Sajid Qureshi-trained NRI Ace garnered the maximum support in the ring, but the public choice piloted by leading pro Antony Raj failed to make her presence felt and eventually finished down the field. Gold Ride, Art Collector and rank outsider Perfect Blend charged home after another long shot Decacorn called the shots a furlong from home and it was Gold Ride, who prevailed in a cluster finish, pegging back Art Collector, a `neck' separating the two at the wire, while Perfect Blend finished third, similar distance behind the runner-up Art Collector in a humdinger.

After making a winning debut in the Bangalore summer season, the speedy Deep Respect finished third twice and up against mediocre opposition here, the Rajesh Narredu ward piloted by RN Darshan easily made every post a winning one in the upper division of the Belur Plate run over a sprint. The James McKeown schooled El Rey, who had gone of the boil, failing to make an impression in his four starts in the summer at his parent-centre, it appears is slowly regaining the poise to make his presence felt and it will not be long before this Mckeown trainee earns her winning bracket on this track.
The lower division of the event was claimed by another public choice Jolie's Star. The on-money favourite from the stables of Kishan Thomas confidently piloted by apprentice Vishal proved too good for her seven rivals after four runners opted out of this event, making the task of Jolie's Star easy at end.

In what appeared a open race, Country's Fire from Feroz Khan's yard was a medium of a well planned gamble in the opening event, the One Life To Love Plate and the well supported contestant partnered by apprentice jockey Lave Kumar didn't disappoint his supporters, powering through to score in emphatic fashion. Second in demand at the betting ring, Fashionista in her attempt to make every post a winning one found the winner too hot to handle in the final furlong and had to rest content with the runner-up berth.

The Rajesh Babu schooled Joyful Spirit brought off a successful coup in the Triveni Plate run over a mile. The winner backed down from (13/4) to even money was head and shoulders above his nine rivals following the withdrawal of Elveden and Turkoman. Kiran Rai astride the favourite didn't really need to extend himself, guiding home the heavily backed favourite with a measure of comfort. The winner is in fine nick and is set to provide an encore. Augusto caught the eye while finishing second ahead of Rising Form, while Side Please from Umar Shariff's yard, who had his share of followers lacked the gas in the tank to make a race of it and retired at the top of the straight.

D Roman Reigns was tipped to score in the concluding event, the Mandya Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs and the top choice in the hands of Ayaz Khan bolted in to the delight of his supporters. The winner is in great heart and it will pay to support this Bipin salvi ward again next time out. Sheer Elegance followed the winner home and this Ramanathan ward is certain to earn her cornbill in the weeks ahead.
