Master Belief (Juniper-Compassion) proved his potential as a sprinter while annexing The Sohna Stud Million at the Delhi races on Tuesday. Ishwar Singh Parmar, who trained the victor, and A Khan and jockey CS Jodha were the successful professionals sharing a brace each during the day.In the field of 14 horses, Master Belief was quickest from his block and soon found himself running alone at the helm of affairs over the six furlongs. But as soon as he entered into the final furlong, the big purse looked to be slipping away from his grasp as he started sending distress signal.

However, the huge lead he had already established came to his rescue. Equal Luxury, who was seen bridging the gap towards the end, turned out to be the next best by keeping the fast-finishing Golden Route neck away. The latter has the staying power and will be a tough contender over the seven furlongs. The other favoured horses, Miss Burgeon and Pretty Girl, failed to even figure on the board. Imagine (Eljohar-Romantic Ridge), who failed to live up to expectations in the last two outings, found his winning shoes under K Sunny Kumar, who rode him with patience in the day's opener, The Rafah Plate. Bacha Quero and Real scotch ran on to be impressive second and third respectively ahead of Unicorn, who was handled indifferently.

The middle plate of the race went in favour of Ashwa Prisha (Buden Of Proof-Exotic Fantasy), who made every post a winning one. Heavenly Angel (Barood-Back From Heaven) raised a surprising winning gallop in the lower division of the plate. Dancing Babe, who struggled for a passage at the time of need, could have turned the table. A change of mastership (Zulfiqar Khan) from the prominent stable saw a sea change in the performance of Fearlessnegotiator (Steinbeck-Accrual), who emerged victorious in the mile's Top Glade Plate. Ishwar Singh Parmar's Sonic Boom (Placerville-Miss XO Lence) showed a clean pair of heels in The Ontario Plate, which was earmarked for the top-class horses. Enya, who occupied the runner-up berth from the stablemate The Rock, should soon return to the winning block.

A Khan's Jovial (Eljohar-Fair Truce) found his winning shoes after a gap of four months in the upper division of The Conquering Hero Plate for the class three horses. The junior division of the event saw a ding-dong battle between Spot Hit and Red Reef (Classic Tale-Red Rosette). The latter, who is a huge ‘Panch Kalyan’ (four white patched legs and a white blaze on the face) chestnut, defied the class overcoming the two-month gap after the lower class win. Yet another victory is expected from the Sangeet Charan-trainee.
