The seventh day of the last month of the 2010 turned out to be the D-day for Kiana, who shed her maiden status in the first classic event of the Delhi season – The North India 1000 Guineas. Trainer Ishwar Singh Parmar was the lone professional to earn a double. The Jagatjit Industries-sponsored Guineas attracted nine fillies and the Mumbai-returned Ashwa Prerna's track forms made her the firm favourite. She chose to sit behind the Pacemaker Ashwa Prisha till straightening for the homestretch.

However, before entering into the distance, she appeared to be writing a winning script but that went up in smoke when Kiana came from the hind group to measure her with two lengths. It is quite surprising to note that Kiana was not able to justify the favouritism in four outings despite having had the potential of meeting with success as her mother Tiana was the double classic winner including the North India Derby before retiring to the stud. Kiana, who enabled trainer Magan Singh to win his first classic, should now stake a claim for the 2000 Guineas. But there she would have to face strong contenders like Real Smasher and Ashwa Pushkar. Ashwa Prerna was observed to be running a bit zig-zag during the closing stages. Ashwa Prisha's forward run helped her to get the fourth position behind Shocking Star.

The third day of the winter season also turned out to be memorable for Ravinder Pal Singh Chauhan's Global Stud. Its first-bred filly Ashwa Pranita made an impressive winning debut in The Divine Comedy Plate. Chandrapal Singh-saddled daughter of Duja and No Excuses proved to be too speedy in a start-to-finish attempt. Ashwa Prithvi, who finished third behind Equal Luxury, has the capability to prove his merit soon. R S Shekhawat's Ashwa Paylia followed the footsteps of Ashwa Pranita in the upper division of The Aristocrat Premium Plate. Flying Majesty, who failed to foil the bid of the winner by a neck, sought a strong handling. Manbir Singh's charge Mojo (Pennine Ridge-Belief) left the other contenders in the lower division of the plate gasping for breath. The run of Brustic Brave and Gangajal was impressive.

HA Khan's trainee Charg Away (Don Micheletto-Scholarship) tamed Fearlessnegotiator by a whisker in The Milkfood Plate. Striko, who spent precious time in searching for a clear opening before finishing third, should raise a winning gallop. The performances of Kerry Blue and Real Scotch, who finished fourth and fifth respectively, should not be ignored. Ishwar Singh Parmar's wards Master Speed and Cavalry Brigade survived narrowly in the senior and lower division of The An's Black Plate. Bismark and Best of Luck, who were the runner-ups in the plates, should make amends. Fearless Tiger ran on to be a notable fourth.
