Movie Queen showed a remarkable turn of foot while annexing the upper division of The General Officer Commanding Delhi Area Cup at the Delhi races on Tuesday. Saddler Zulfiqar Khan, who trained the feature-event winner, was the lone professional to earn a double through Movie Queen and Asma.Movie Queen, who obliged the connections support after having been backed down heavily, was in no hurry despite leading the way till the early two furlongs. Seeing the favourite Fascinating Memory pushing her back into the second place, jockey Shadab (atop Movie Queen) waited patiently for the turn and guided the mare to dominate the last furlong.

The daughter of Tirol and Kiss And Tell was not able to meet with success for the last couple of seasons at Bangalore and Delhi. She should complete an encore. Fascinating Memory had his own reasons for not being able to justify the billing. At the start, he broke out lethargically. Then, he was forced to catch the field before the half-way mark and in the process got exhausted. The run should be ignored. Belfagour was an impressive third. Opera Royale bears watching.

The lower division of the cup was bagged easily by Invisible Force. The son of Ansbach and Lady In Lace took on the field on much lower handicap than his last class four success in the last season. Jockey Jaiprakash rode the horse superbly by making headway between the horses with still a furlong left. Dazzle, who ran with bandaged legs in the previous essay, was in without bandages and ran on to be eye-catching second. Flying Majesty, who showed speed before winding-up, should spring a surprise. Moongate Man, who failed to live up to expectations finishing close fourth, found the handicap difficult to manage. Ishwar Singh Parmar's Little Cut (Case Law – Final Cut) emerged victorious as she made every post a winning one in the day's opener, The Ceremonial Plate. Crystal Pistol covered vast ground to occupy the next berth by taming Yare in the last strides.

With this performance, Crystal Pistol has now got some ray of hope to earn bracket soon. The Rajputana Rifles Plate witnessed a ding-dong battle between Sparkling Gold and Rose. Though the former prevailed by a whisker, the loser’s run was no less impressive. Rose, who was in command with a huge margin after the jump, had made jockey Ramandeep atop Sparkling Gold put in extra effort.

Zulfiqar's Asma (Ansbach – Atherlow) landed spoilsports at nourishing odds in The Western Command Plate over six furlongs. Beatrice, who came with a flashing run, shied away by half-a-length at the finish. She has the capability to reach the top class. The concluding event, The Cavalry Plate, saw Mysore-born but Delhi-based beginner Hashim Ali Khan punching Sangreal (Flitch – Issabelle) for home in an emphatic manner. Undoubtedly, the sudden drift of Little Master from the top of the straight made the task easy for Hashim to earn his career's first win.
