Sarir dashed the hope of Ashwa Panama to complete a hat-trick in the Al Widah Plate at the Delhi races on Monday. Interestingly, Jockey Sameer Khan, who rode the victor, was the lone professional to earn a double on the last day of the India's longest racing season. Running in the mid-bunch till the homestretch, Sarir was ridden out elegantly to slide through the gap between Ashwa Panama and Mysterio in the nick of time. The latter, who was undertaking a start-to-finish attempt, ran a close third.

Ashwa Panama could have won the battle had Pawan (who replaced DK Ashish) driven the mount out rigorously in place of whipping towards the end. In the previous race, Sameer guided the fortunes of Brustic Brave to lift the upper division of the Good Bye Cup in a wire-to-wire attempt. During the race, Ashish had a nasty fall from Ashwa Shourya around 650m. Jockey Ramlal also fell off from Gangajal while trying to save the fallen jockey. Ashwa Panna proved his capability in the lower division of the Goodbye Cup. Taking on the class four field with heavy impost of 61 kg was tough, but Ashwa Panna took it as a challenge and foiled the bid of First N Impression's leading from the front.

Assistance of whip was sought on the runner-up as Chhotu Singh Jodha had lost it during the crucial stages. The victor should reach the top class. Flying Majesty shed the maiden status in the Family Welfare Plate. The daughter of Majestic Bay, who was one of the speediest runners before being retired to the stud, did not show the initial speed but after picking up momentum at the corner of the curve, left the field in the lurch. Fascinating Memory ran on to be second ahead of the late galloper Ram Baarn, who has the stride to stay over longer trips. Private Eye tasted his overdue victory while causing an upset in the Happy Ending Plate. King Challenge registered an impressive victory in a pillar-to-post affair. His efforts should be appreciated in the wake of bursting its blood vessels. The season's concluding event witnessed a close fight between Da Vinci and Charg Away in the lower division of the closing ceremony plate. The latter succeeded by a neck.
