Ka Ching completed a hat-trick when he defeated Ashwa Pratap by a neck in the Hyderabad Race Club Cup at the Delhi races on Tuesday. Chhotu Singh Jodha, who rode the victor, succeeded on Charg Away in similar manner in the Navy Cup. Interestingly, on both the occasions, his rival was none other than the visiting Mumbikar jockey Deepak Kamble Ashish. Chhotu, who has been holding the best strike rate ever since he started riding in Delhi, was able to have a creditable treble on the day.

The win of Ishwar Singh Parmar's Ka Ching, who started his campaign from class 3, was a close affair today. The horse had to use the last ounce of his energy to foil the start-to-finish bid of Ashaw Pratap over the mile's event. However, the unluckiest horse turned out to be Rabi Kounga, who looked to be utilising the open gap between the rails and Ashwa Pratap passing 300m and was supposed to sneak through before the latter shifted in leaving no room whatsoever. While Rajinder (Rabi Kounga) asked for an extra effort, the horse also failed to bear the heavy impost of 62 kilos. The jockey took the matter to the stewards’ room, but the objection was turned down. Ka Ching should be able to look for his fourth win, while the runner-up will be in hunt for his first victory in the remaining season.

Riding with great confidence, Jodha kept Charg Away in the mid-group before the final furlong and the mount responded well at the time off need to pull-off a scintillating victory over Ashwa Paylia. Singh Is King, who was handled poorly by Parmod, finished a length further away. Earlier, Mysterio posted a remarkable win under the guidance of Jodha in the day's curtain raiser - Pink Bouquet Plate. The chestnut gelding led from the front. Manbir Singh-trained Fantabulous Hero earned a long overdue victory by making every post a winning one over the mile. Dazzling Light could not find better place than to run behind the winner after galloping late.

Zoombastic became the second Bangalorean to achieve success after Fantabulous Hero in the INS Virat Plate. The three year-old colt made it despite drifting out alarmingly and running green in the straight. He should be in a different shape in the next season.

A first timer Kiana, who is the daughter of the North India Derby Winner Tiana, warmed up late from the sixth position to play the role of the second fiddle. The filly has the capability to reach the top level. Steel Force, who cornered the third spot, should strip fitter soon. S Nawab-trained Tapis tasted long overdue victory in the curtain down event, The I N S Kulish Plate.
