In view of the two horses stationed at Bangalore Turf Club Limited being tested positive for the Glanders and further State Government of Karnataka issuing Notification dated: 16.12.2025 declaring as notified area as per Section 6 of "The Preventior! and Control o f Infectious and Contagious Diseases i n Animal Act 2009 and Clause -4.2 of National Action Plan for Control and Eradication of Glanders in India (Revised 2025) by DAHD, GOI Delhi.

It’s really sad that this has happened at HRC. It is absolutely shocking that we have had two Glanders positives within the confines of a Race Club. Between race clubs and stud farms in India horses are only allowed to move around with EIA & Glanders negative certificates, thus farms and racetracks are disease free zones. So where has this come from? The answer is simple, it has to be from the ill advised illegal two horse racing league promoted by Suresh Palladugu of HPSL and HRC since those indigenous horses were stabled at HRC. Extremely irresponsible behaviour by a Turf Authority and the rest of us stakeholders in the industry have to now bear the brunt of this! The irony is that the same person who put us in this situation has been contracted by most of the clubs to destruct our totalizators. A person who has caused such misery to horses and Indian racing in general ought to be warned off but here we keep on sucking up to him, unfortunately the only conclusion one can reach is that this smacks of corruption and kickbacks! Meanwhile whither our industry

Champion Trainer and multiple classic winning trainer L D Silva passed away on Sunday morning due to cardiac arrest. He started his career in the year 1973 as an apprentice jockey under Maj.V.M.Lad and got trainer license in the year 1991 at #hyderabadraceclub. India race extends condolences to the bereaved family.
