Racing Incidents
Jockey J Paswan the rider of SUNLAA was reprimanded for not maintaining a straight course soon after jumping out of the Starting Gates. ALPHA CENTAURI (Aadesh Kumar) drifted `out` very badly towards the edge of the grass track, approaching the 800 Metres, despite the best efforts of the rider to keep it on an even course. In view of its erratic behaviour, Trainer Mr. G T Surender was informed that he must not accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in one Mock Race on a Race Day on the race track. Trainer Mr. Md. Sajid Qureshi was questioned regarding the poor performance of his charge, MAURITIUS STAR (Ahsan Qureshi). He stated that (a) he had accepted his charge to run in a 1200 Metres` race in view of the poor quality of the other runners entered for the same and (b) he himself was disappointed with the performance of his charge in the above race.
