Racing Incidents
Jockey C. Alford, the rider of ARCHIPENKO, placed 2nd by the Judge objected against Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of FLEETING ARROW placed 1st for "in the final 300 Metres when I came along side FLEETING ARROW the horse has taken my ground and also bumped me thrice. Jockey Appu has also hit my horse with his whip in the final 20 Metres when I had a clear run I have again gained, ground and therefore cost me a certain race" The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race and interviewed the Jockeys concerned. After deliberations, they decided to over rule the objection. Jockey K.P.G. Appu, the rider of FLEETING ARROW was fined Rs.3,000/- for not maintaining a straight course in the last 150 Metres.
