Racing Incidents
Trainer Mr. Pradeep Annaiah was fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the declaration of weight in respect of his charge YOU`RE WONDERFUL. Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of SAFARI, report-ed that his mount was hanging `in` very badly after entering the straight and approaching the 100 Metres it brushed the false rails thereby momentarily unbalanc-ing him. Trainer Mr. Arjun Mangalorkar and Jockey S. John were questioned regarding the running and riding of TOMSK in the above race. The trainer stated that this Jockey had won on his charge in all its last 3 runs and after jointly discussing the riding strategy between themselves he had told the Jockey to ride it off the pace and after entering the straight to come on the outside and ride out his mount. He added that in two of its last runs the horse had relished being ridden in such a manner and won the race, but today it did not perform to their expectation.
