Racing Incidents
The surcingle used on ART OF WAR had to be replaced at the starting gate. Subsequent examination revealed that the equipment was in serviceable condition and as such, no action was taken beyond noting the incident. AKHIL’S PET (S Domingo) which was slow to begin ran detached from the field. The jockey on questioning stated, that despite his repeated urgings the gelding refused to raise a fluent gallop throughout the race. Subsequent to the race day the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that b g AKHIL’S PET was found to be lame on left hind. Tr. Javed Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.
