Racing Incidents
The Sr.V.O. reported that on arrival at the Starting Gate, URBAN WARRIOR (S.Sunil) was observed to be breathing heavily with thick purulent discharge from both the nostrils. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter?s Order. Trainer S.Shaikh, when questioned in the above connection, he said that he had noticed that the horse was breathing heavily in the Saddling Enclosure and had also coughed once but he felt that this was due to the heat and as such did not bring the same to the notice of the Club?s Sr.V.O. Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer S.Shaikh, he has been fined Rs.5,000/- for negligence and severely cautioned for the future.
