Racing Incidents
At the start, THE SAINT (Ishwar Pardeshi) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside. Jockey Harish (EVANGILIST) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight and he found it difficult to ride out his mount. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly. On questioning, Jockey P.S.Chouhan (OCEAN TREASURE) stated that he was instructed to be in 1st or 2nd position but his mount was uninterested in the race and was not responding to his urgings. The Club’s Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the the gelding and he reported that no abnormality was detected. An enquiry has been initiated into the running of this race and a report will be submitted shortly. ALCHEMIST stopped galloping near 800 metres and did not finish the race. The gelding was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore from left fore leg, having suffered incurable injury at left fore fetlock and complete rupture of suspensory ligament. The horse was euthanized after consulting the Trainer who had no objection. After the race, THE SAINT was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated period of 8 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. After the race, EVANGILIST was found to be sound.
