Trainer Mr. Bipin V Salvi was questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge, MR GENIOUS (Keanen G Steyn), the winner of this Race as compared to its previous runs during the Season. Trainer stated that (a) this horse has been tried over shorter distance of 1200 Metres when it was sporting Blinkers and did not perform that well; (b) therefore, he applied for the change of equipment and removal of the Blinkers; (c) this horse then worked well along with the other stable mate QUEENS CRUISE; (d) after its last three runs, the horse had got a sizeable reduction in the handicap; (e) today, over a distance of 1600 Metres, despite a tardy beginning, it came out and just managed to win the race; and (f) in view of its poor showing in the past, he had not fancied it in the race, but it surprised him. His explanations were noted.

FAST COLOURS (N Rajesh) sustained cut injury on left hind bulb of heel.

Routine Sample was taken for analysis from the winner, b.g. MR GENIOUS.

An enquiry is being held into the running and riding of PRINCE OF ARGYLE, trained by Mr. Dinesh Pujar and ridden by Jockey Melvyn Maseyk in the above race.

After due enquiry, Jockey Melvyn Maseyk the rider of PRINCE OF ARGYLE was fined Rs.5,000/- for not making sufficient effort on his mount during the race.
