The Stipendiary Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race with particular reference to the fall of b g LOUGHERNE (Aadesh Kumar) approaching the 1200 metres and the reasons as to why b h HADRIAN (N S Parmar) was brought to a halt approaching the 400 metres.  At the conclusion of the enquiry the Stipendiary Stewards were satisfied that the fall of  b g  LOUGHERNE was accidental and no blame could be attached to any jockey.  On immediate veterinary examination the gelding was found to have sustained a broken shoulder on its left fore and hence was put down on humanitarian grounds.

Further, on immediate veterinary examination of b h HADRIAN, the horse was found to have sustained a suspected fracture on left shoulder and hence was kept under observation.  Under the  above circumstances the Stipendiary Stewards ordered the hoisting of the ‘All Clear’ signal.  The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported on 15^th February, 2012 that the horse had sustained a compound fracture on the left shoulder and was put down on humanitarian grounds.
