Racing Incidents
Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of SOUTHERN KING, was fined Rs.5,000/- for shifting in and causing interference to NEVER SAY GOODBYE (P.S. Chouhan) on his inside approaching the 350 Metres.
 
Jockey P.S. Chouhan, the rider of NEVER SAY GOODBYE, placed Second by the Judge objected against Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of SOUTHERN KING placed First for "into the home straight jockey Suraj Narredu used his whip from the left and came on to me and pushed me in whereby I had to stop riding which cost me the race". The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race and examined the Jockeys concerned. After deliberations, they decided to overrule the objection.
 
It was reported after the race that NEVER SAY GOODBYE (P.S. Chouhan) pulled up lame on left hind due to sprained quarter. Trainer Mr. R.R. Byramji was informed that he must produce a Fitness Certificate from the Club's Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.
 
NEVER SAY GOODBYE (P.S. Chouhan) sustained a cut injury on right hock.
 
INDRAVATI (V.R. Jagadeesh) sustained a cut injury on left hind coronet.
