For failing to produce his charge b g DEVILITTO in time for the parade of Starters, Tr. Patrick Quinn was fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/-.

b g ASHWA PRABIR (B Gurang) was slow to begin losing approximately three lengths at the start.  As the gelding had performed in a similar fashion earlier, Tr. D M David was advised not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the starter in a barrier trial during the hours of morning track work.

SECRET WHISPERS (Russell Xaviers) trailed the field throughout the race.  In view of its performance Tr. C Gleich was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

Tr. Bharath Singh when given an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge ch g STAR WAGER as compared to its previous runs  in Race No. 28 (The Prudential Handicap) on 31st July, 2012 and Race No. 59 (The Moon Mission Handicap – Div II) run on 18th August, 2012 where his charge finished unplaced, stated that  :-

a)    He was pleasantly surprised with the victory as the stable had not at all fancied its chances.

b)   His charge was running with additional equipments of Blinkers and Tongue Strap ‘ON’ for the first time which may have helped the gelding to perform better.

c)    The gelding is to be retired from racing in the next couple of days.

When further queried by the Stipendiary Stewards as to whether he was satisfied with the riding of Jockey Sk Israil in its previous Race ie.,  Race No. 59 in which race the Stipendiary Stewards  had reprimanded Jockey Sk Israil for the indifferent handling of his mount, he stated that he was of the opinion that the jockey had ridden to the best of  his limited ability.

The Stipendiary Stewards while noting Tr. Bharath Singh’s explanations, informed him that should any fresh evidence be made available, the enquiry will be re-opened.

Jockey Gajender Singh, the rider of  b g ASTON MARTIN, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that the gelding was inclined to ‘lean in’ as such he was unable to ride his mount to complete advantage.  The gelding was impounded for veterinary examination and on examination the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding was found to be  lame on right fore.  Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was informed not to accept with his charge until passed fit by the Veterinary Officer.

During the concluding stages of a closely contested race OCEAN WAY (B Sreekanth) and  OCEAN FAIRY (App Zarar Alam) were momentarily inconvenienced when STAR WAGER (Vinay Jaiswal) under pressure  shifted ‘inwards’.  Jockey Vinay Jaiswal was advised to exercise greater control over his mounts in future.
